I know this is old series, I'm just feeling a bit nostalgic and want to watch it again. I'm wondering if anyone knows for a release with good quality dvd rips of first two seasons. All I’ve found on net was couple of slow torrents with tvrip quality. Not even wide screen ones (not even shure if there is widescreen).
One of my favourite series. It was never released in widescreen as far as I know. But it must be dirt cheap to buy on DVD now, so don't be cheap
1.8 ratio isnt widescreen??? since when?
the only thing that was never done in widescreen was the cgi, but everything else was shot in widescreen - i think one of the first tv shows to actually do that...
i dont know what version i have... i never bother keeping release names, but the quality was watchable... i dont think very high quality releases are all that possible because the dvd source was never great to begin with.
if i was rich, id do my best to get the rights to the show, re-do all the cgi and release the whole thing in HD, because its the best damn sci-fi show ever made... and sheridan kicks so much fricken ass.
such a pity that the recent lost tales movie was such rubbish...
quality of the eps floating around on torrent.. just look for whatever has the most seeds, and this is probably it.
Yeah, you're right of course. I just got it mixed up with another show

And Odyssey 5 I would so love a HD remake of Bab5 sometime in the future. Too bad all the original CGI models went missing
The original series (not the TV films and spin offs) has been remastered in broadcast original 4:3, currently available on iTunes and Amazon.
Comparison vs the previous 4:3 versions available (on VUDU):
The show isn't popular enough to rescan the negative and recreate thousands of VFX shots, so this is simply remastering the SD broadcast masters from back in the day. Good enough, and the loss of widescreen isn't important.

This appears to be a look at the "remastered" B5 eps on Itunes/Prime (for purchase). For me the biggest difference is the color range. The DVDs/digital until now were so washed out, after a while even I forgot how much vibrant color there was.

I watched the 4:3 version of this last night, so much better. Not perfect but still a great improvement, and the ep just works because now you're not distracted by the grainy, pixillated picture. CGI is closer to the beautiful original work.

The pain came only from seeing how badly they had been transferred to DVD/Digital prior to right now...knowing what they *really* looked like made it almost impossible to watch the DVDs.

Watching 4:3 Endgame tonight, first time in years, such fun, also a chance to show real warfare strategy, not just ships firing at close range. Lyta ducking as a White Star roars past just a few feet overhead one of my favorite scenes; and awakening the teeps is just plain creepy
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
There's a rumored (upscaled) blu-ray release cooking.

Watching this for the first time, it's really good. It's too bad about the poor CGI perhaps but to me it's also a bit interesting to see, i believe it was done on Amiga, at least it's something i recall hearing when the show was fairly new.
I remember it being on TV, but it wasn't to my taste back then, i thought it was some poor Star Trek rip off so i never watched. The writing is really good, i like how it's not exactly black/white like e.g Star Wars. It certainly has some of that 90's cheese but that's fine and expected. Many of the designs here are fantastic.
I wouldn't rate is as good as BSG just yet, but i'm still on S1.
