Marvel's new games strive for authenticity above all else -- the correct powers for the right heroes wearing the proper costumes. "Sexy" games are important to Marvel Games, too. "If it doesn't turn heads, if it doesn't get you excited to talk with your friends, it's not a Marvel game. It has to command attention," Jones explained, citing existing games like Spider-Man Unlimited and Contest of Champions on mobile as defining examples.

Marvel Games has partnered with Telltale Games for a future console and PC series coming in 2017.

I want Deadpool. But it will probably be Hulk or something

omg deadpool would be sooooo freaking awesome...although i think the game will probably have multiple playable superheroes or like someone said earlier shield/hydra focused
Marvel. Yawn. Boring formulatic shit most probably, just like their boring formulatic shit movie (becaues they have that single one movie, only remade many times over - sometimes with missing characters).
GoT the game already looks like shit (the last episode I enjoyed very, very much though), so if they decide to finally improve their engine (as in, put a little work in for all that dough), and if the game will actually have gameplay, then I will pirate it.
Perhaps the biggest inclusion in the non-struck list is Guardians of the Galaxy: The Video Game (AKA “Blue Harvest”). It’s easy to assume that Marvel is developing a tie-in mobile game for the film sequel, but it interestingly shares a production house with Telltale’s The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. So it’s not too far of a leap to assume that Telltale’s mysterious Marvel project might star the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Eurogamer first heard word of the game earlier this month, ahead of a likely unveiling at The Game Awards in December.

Too bad the Telltale fuckers prefer to start thousands of game series, instead of doing more seasons for their other games. Like Borderlands or Wolf Among Us.
Enthoo Evolv ATX TG // Asus Prime x370 // Ryzen 1700 // Gainward GTX 1080 // 16GB DDR4-3200
I think they license these properties for just 1 game. From their games only Games of Thrones was announced as a multi-season deal. Then regarding Tales 2 they pretty much said it's up to Gearbox, which again seems to indicate they do not have the rights for more games. http://twinfinite.net/2016/06/telltale-job-stauffer-batman-interview-e3-2016/

Tales from the Borderlands was one of the biggest hits of last year, so I guess what the obvious question is when can we expect to see a bit more news on a second season?
JS: We love, love, love, love working with Gearbox. We’re the biggest Borderlands fans in the world. I shouldn’t say that because every time we go out to an event with those guys we see even bigger fans and y’know people get more and more excited about that universe. Gearbox have announced that they’re going to continue and Tales from the Borderlands is the story canon between Borderlands 2 and wherever they’re going to take things next. I think the Vault Key is in their court and I think whatever is going to happen next to any of those characters, if you’re going to see them again, I think that is a question for our friends at Gearbox and we can’t wait to see what happens next ourselves.

Exactly, I'm still waiting for The Wolf Among Us' second season
They said 2017, which in Telltale time equals to 2077, assuming that they don't get ahold of another dozen of franchises to squeeze in the meantime.

Telltale Games, along with Marvel Entertainment, today announced an interactive episodic game series based on Marvel’s iconic sci-fi franchise Guardians of the Galaxy.
As the press release reads, the first of five episodes in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will premiere digitally in 2017 on consoles, PC, and mobile devices.
Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games, said:
“The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling. In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we’ve been developing when it premieres in 2017.”
Jay Ong, Senior Vice President, Games & Innovation, Marvel Entertainment, added:
“With story at the core of everything that Marvel creates, who better to team with than master storytellers Telltale Games. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series fully showcases Marvel and Telltale’s rich legacy of storytelling, and fans will find themselves immersed in an original, character-driven narrative. As part of our strategy to establish a new standard for Marvel games, this is certainly among the great titles to come.”
"with story at the core of everything that marvel.." blah blah blah whaattt
i thought political correctness was at the core of everything marvel creates, followed closely by their 'multiple universes solve everything' concept around which they build everything so that they have an easy way out of their crap story telling.
anyway, not interested. I loved the movie, but am totally burned out on telltales particular brand of lazy cookie-cutter half-assed bullshit.
Telltale also announced the voice cast for the entire Guardians team — Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter will voice Star-Lord, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor actress Emily O'Brien will star as Gamora, Uncharted actor Nolan North will portray Rocket, Watch Dogs' Brandon Paul Eells will voice Drax, and The Wolf Among Us' Adam Harrington will lend Groot his signature dialogue.
The series will follow the team after a major battle in which they discover a powerful artifact. Each of the Guardians wants the relic for different reasons, as does a villain who is the last of her kind.
No exact release date has been announced, but Guardians of the Galaxy, which will see the team venture from Earth to Knowhere and more locations aboard the Milano, is set to debut sometime this spring for consoles, PC, and mobile devices.
Well I kinda liked it. A bit stiff animations and dated graphics, but that is to be expected from a TT game.
Storywise the first episode was ok I guess, but the dialogue between the characters wasn't all that funny, yet still interesting enough to play through.
It has potential, but I would wait to see if it gets better in the later episodes before recommending it.
