Wow, glad you shared this with us cause your opinion is so important Rolling Eyes

I really hope they return to the roots of larry and make it fun again, not like the last crap...

Quote:
"mission-based exploration, platforming, racing and puzzle-solving"

that kind of kills my hope. that an the fact that it's gonna be multi-platform. too bad, lsl was always fun

I remember playing the first Larry games, where you had to type in text to do stuff, ala the first King's Quest, Space Quest and Police Quest games, those were the days. Now Larry is just utter shite.

I remember those too, they were along the first games i ever played (well, not larry), I think I still know most of Police Quest 1,2 and Space Quest 1-3. I played them so god damn often, there were times I think I could have gone through them blindfolded Very Happy

I agree. Until 6 Larry was good.
Bring back the old text based exploration-interaction.

I actually talked with Al Lowe a while back via e-mail. Really nice, down to earth guy. It's a shame how the corporate whores at Sierra don't give a damned about anything but the bottom line. The guy has talent, and to this day Leisure Suit Larry 7 still stands out as one of the most unique, imo best, adventure games out there. Play it if you haven't - it's hilarious.

This title, just like the previous LSL fakery, will be utter shite. Milking a franchise that's not rightfully theirs. Fuck em.

[Edit] No one likes LSL7? Played both 6 and 7 and 7 seemed the better of the two to me. Unique setting, AWESOME characters, funny dialogs. If you actually bought the boxed copy way back when, it came with a little color coded card that had various smells on it that corresponded to different areas of the ship. A first in gaming history methinks.

Game looks more stupid then the last one.

Best Larry is the one on the ship, i think it's Larry 7.

I also spoke with Lowe a few years back. Thanks to gmail's archive I can quote what he said to me:

"While Sierra owns Larry and refuses to give up the rights to me or anyone, I haven't given up on finding someone somewhere who is willing to take a chance and try something that's not a FPS or sim. Who knows what the future will bring?"

Poor Al. if only he had known what the future will look like for poor old Larry...

Al made a point when he quit. "No more adventure? No more me." simple as that, I'm sure he sometimes regrets that move but you gotta respect him for that, I know I do and that quote makes me hope we'll see a true Larry game some day becaus Sierra can't be holding on to that lincense (and the Space Quest, King's Quest and Police Quest licsenses as well) forever - I mean, they still can make some SWAT FPS game (the last one was cool, don't get me wrong) but I really hope to see an adventure in any of those universes again, I mean, they're classics, part of gaming history if you want (they're part of my history for sure).

The Narrator in Love For Sail was awesome.

'Oh that's good.'

'NOT THAT GOOD!'

Or the one about, 'Give or take a couple of weeks? Oh, 12 years ago.' or something. Hilarious stuff. Why'd Ken have to sell of Sierra?

First trailer, no idea what they are trying to show and the music is pretty bad.
(Looks like a intro movie or something.)

EDIT: Resident Evil 2 spoof?
(Or maybe Gears of War.)

Picked up by Codemasters, unfortunately we can't use the "Cockmasters" pun as the game won't feature any nudity.

Heh, new games every day, though this seems a bit weaker than the previous titles.
(7 was pretty good and the earlier titles were fun as well though very difficult.)

Here's some new screens as well.
(This game doesn't have nudity either from what I've read, was pretty fun to unlock that extra in Magna Cum Laude.)

Not sure what everyone's on about, but Larry 7 was the definite highlight of the Series - just perfect. Really should have setup the making of Larry 8 - Lust In Space (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leisure_Suit_Larry_8), but sadly it was never to be Sad
I was so looking forward to that game.

QFT.

Fortunately a talented coder made an XP/Vista 32/64 bit compatible installer for Leisure Suit Larry 7 in case anyone would like to play that instead of this garbage.

Here's the link to the modified installer only - not the actual game files.
http://www.squirtthecat.com/games/leisure_suit_larry_7/index.html

Play it and experience the REAL Leisure Suit Larry in all his glory.
