I've never paid much attention to this thing cause of the crappy marketing and gay "games" it's been showing making the price pretty much worthless...untill I saw this..

The idea ain't that bad. But to me its just another big "gadget" that i have to store somewhere when not using. Like to keep my PC desk extremely tidy
Maybe the idea could be incorporated in to a mouse in some way...
Actually I think it could. Imagine you had a wheel under the mouse that was powered by a little e-engine, that would be triggered to spin towards you when shooting in game and then reverse back (had to be very fast of course) that would sort a simulate recoil.

Sort of like this.

I think that might actually work, and would not be that expensive to build.

You would also sort a lose your aim as the mouse would move...more or less simulating the recoil also on screen

Then one would have to solve the "glide" properties of the mouse as well... Rolling Eyes

Problem with that is you can't move the mouse sideways anymore with the wheels underneath, apart from that the idea sounds great

How about this solution

Just noticed that the arrows are the wrong way around to lazy to correct it, but you get the picture.

Or...if one would have like a piston inside the mouse that simply was proppeld back and forth using a strong e-engine...that would also simulate the back/forward motion of recoil, using the kinetc energy.

Something like this

damn the piston thing sounds much better than the wheels solution, you might actually be on to somethinge here

come to think of it, a magnet would probaly be better suited than an electric motor, also the weight needs a spring to push it back in place like the sledge in a pistol.

also, off the top of my head, i can think of a few problems with this, a major one beeing the power consumption, 2.5W won't be enough to operate the mouse and this mechanical stiff, also it will not be maintainance-free, ever. You need some sort of lubericant in there. But i guess i'm beeing a bit anal about details here Smile

But again, I am pretty sure these guys have think tanks and stuff.

I would not just post it here if I did not think its already probably been thought of (better then what I did here, i am sure)
