Explain why, and open up! Wink

Personally I haven't even got a fine before, so NO.

But I guess there are countries (like USA?) that arrest you for less serious things...
It can also be because you had a little to much to drink at town and had to spend the night in a cell. Very common here Razz

Murder, genocide, planting car bombs and copying a Xbox game. It was a hellish time.........for the screws. I had all my soldiers watching my back and I was the daddy on the wing.

No one messes with me!

Many times in jail, never in prison. Most of the time due to traffic violations. Illinois greatly profits from locking people up. They will arrest you for the smallest thing.

Yes i am the 1 person who voted "yes"

was convicted to 6 months in prison for illigaly running a casino in a city where it was not allowed.
from the 6 months i only did 10 days tho.
luckely prison was not really a bad thing cause it was kinda like a hotel Smile you only dont get to go out whenever u want hehe.

After that i had a second conviction for running again a illigal casino in another city.
conviction was again 6 months.
I went to prison checked in - 2 hours later they let me go cause of over population Smile

Thats my experience.

Being in prison and being banged up in a police cell are completely different things.. Do you mean arrested and locked up for a day or so? or going to court and being actually sent down (to prison)? Just asking cos some of you are answering yes and have only been arrested..

We can also go to jail for traffic voilations..but its rare, but mostly big fines. Afaik its only speeding that gives you jailtime here.

When my cosin was in South Dacota he talked to a lot of guys that have been in jail for the dumbest things. You can go do jail for drinking when you're under 21 Surprised Does USA have the biggest prisons in the world or something. We have to little space, so we let some guys go to early and stuff ^^ And highest penalty over here is 21 years in jail.

in the US went to jail twice. First time was for vandalism, second time was for a trumped up charge of suspicion of possessing narcotics. That one I had to stay overnight; never figured out why the cops made me.

In Serbia I lived in a district full of corrupt cops. They beat the shit out of me a bunch of times, sometimes with reason and sometime not . Only went to jail once there (for climbing up a construction crane).

Do they take your shoelaces away in other countries? Twisted Evil

Nope...well yea... well not really, but yea. Was in custody for 16h. BAD ONE! and I was young. Was talked in to it by 2 other guys 2-3 years older then me (was sort a 14 at the time) Had to stand guard outside a Music/Instrument Shop, while they went inside (smashed window, alarm all that crap) Anyho, I made it home but they got caught and blamed it all on ME!!!!. So, as I come home I see this Police car driving up in front of the house with one of the guys in that back seat...SNITCH!!!!!!. And they just plucked me up. WOW! I was like SHITING myself, i tell you that. The Cops figured pretty fast that I was not the brain behind this as the other guys (COWARDS) kept saying, and I got off. But still, had to spend the rest of the night and half a day locked up .

once I was at a police station getting charged and interviewed over night, didn't go in a cell though. this was in a pretty small station with about 3-4 holding cells only anyways. hardly scary, I called my parents instead of staying overnight since I was given the choice. plus they figured my parents would be worse on me then they could Wink
