|
 |
Hello,
I am having an issue with my monitor lately. My CRT monitor does not turn on with the PC. The power LED just flickers orange. I have checked the cables and pins. They all seem to be fine. I have searched on the net for the same exact problem but found other monitor problems not like this. Is there anyway to resolve this problem.

A steady flicker or a power related flicker. IE is the flicker not regular.

The power light doesn't seem to be flickering steadily. It seems like it is struggling to turn itself on.

Sounds like the internal PSU is dying or a dry solder joint. If you don't know what you're doing I wouldn't take the back off a monitor they can be lethal.

Now the monitor just turned on. Is it likely that I will encounter the same problem soon. If so, would you recommend to have a technician take a look at it or buy a new monitor all togehter?

Depends. I mean if you're wanting to upgrade then it's probably a perfect time to go LCD. With the sales on. I think with CRT monitors, once things staert going wrong with them then they need to go in the bin.

Can you suggest a good brand and model for a 27" or 28" LCD monitor?

I think If you want something that big you will need to buy one of those Plasma/LCD screen TVs' that have a VGA port so you can hook it up to your PC.

The resolution will most likely suck.
I'm not so familiar with screens this big but I think that the Dell monitors at that size will fit you the most. Their resolution will be much better for you.
Though if I were you and I had all that money to buy a big screen I would have been buying the Dell2407wfp.

Samsung Syncmasters and Dell LCD's are some of the best available.
