When Detective Paul Becker is called to one of the bloodiest gang massacres in Louisiana state history, only two survivors remain from a brutal conflict between two rival cults. As Becker begins his interrogations of the suspects, their combined recollections will uncover the truth about the ‘Ancients’.
Shadow of the Ancients is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Reqiuem. Featuring an ensemble cast of heroes and villains, the game will span over 2500 years of history throughout Egypt, England, Hungary, and the United States. Players will question the perception of reality as they try to balance the mechanics of combat, magick, and sanity events to progress through the adventure.
Shadow of the Ancients will take players on a memorable journey throughout time; weaving historical fact with disturbing fiction to create an experience unlike any other.

How long is each episode?
Each episode will be approximately 2-4 hours of gameplay.
When do you plan to release?
Q3 2014.
What platforms will Shadow of the Ancients be on?
We will be focusing on the PC and Wii U platforms. Other platforms may be added in the future.
Why no Kickstarter Campaign?
We would love to do a Kickstarter, but currently Kickstarter is only open to companies that are in the US or UK. We hope that we can work with Kickstarter in the future to make this option a reality.
However, by integrating the community into the development of the game, we can centralize our site with our crowdfunding system to manage this properly. Upon pledging on our site, you will be granted a Forum Ribbon to our Official Development Forums, where you can share your ideas and feedback about the creation of the game. It does not matter whether you sign up for the forums before, or after pledging – our database will recognize you.

Shadow of the Ancients will be an episodic series, and to complete the first episode and continue production on future episodes, we need approximately 1.1 million dollars. Any money raised beyond this will contribute to future episodes, additional characters, in-game perks, and additional platforms. The more money that we raise, the more we will deliver based on what our fans want.

The previously-reported crowd funding campaign due to commence on Monday, May 6, will seek $1.5 million, with stretch goals beyond that which will include "future episodes, additional characters, additional platforms and in-game perks".
I'm confused here, they are seeking 1.1 or 1.5 as min goal?
1.5 for all episodes. But it's Dyack who is going to trust him with his money?

good point,I really want to Pledge, but after second though, and what happen with Dyack and Slicion Knights,I think I will just wait and see what will happen with the project, still wanting that to succeed ,though
Also my bad it's 1.5m for the pilot episode, although the rest eps are going to be cheaper. And it's using CryEngine 3.

I have no idea what the previous one or this is, but the setting really intrigues me. Characters seem interesting too. I just hope it's actually a game and not some interactive movie.
Episodic gaming already proved it didn't work - either the games felt too by-the-numbers and formulaic (Sam & Max) or they simply stopped making them (HL2, Sin Emergence, etc.). People hate nothing more than risk spending money on a story that never gets an ending, leaving you with half a game at best.
Casual PC gamers are not aware of the previous ED title.
Casual WiiU owners are not familiar with Kickstarter.
Core PC/WiiU gamers are aware of who Dyack is and can't trust him.
I truly believe if the game gets made it has a chance of being really good, but no one (including me) wants to fund it lol

I seriously hope it gets funded though. Original is an absolute classic. Hopefully its cult status and high acclaim will be enough to get funding.
Yet despite this reportedly split effort, the ED2 demo also failed to come together in a satisfying way, sources said. “The farthest they got with it when I left SK was, literally, one two-level church interior,” says one former employee.
Now where have I seen something like that...

It's a shame that SK have lofty goals and not enough drive/talent/resources to reach them, as I thoroughly enjoyed Too Human - bizarre control scheme notwithstanding - and now we'll never know how it really ends :\
The only decent game SK managed to produce was Blood Omen. Original one that was later butchered by Crystal Dynamics. That was thing of a beauty.
Eternal Darkness was kinda meh, I never understand all the hype around it. Too Human and X-men both failed hard. And now they want your money to make even more mediocre clone of ED.

this was the first ever game that broke the 4 wall and it was trolling with you
it could lower its sound or mute it
fake change your Tv channel
make you believe your save is corrupted
troll you in giving you health item
scaring you right in the face ... one time your character will be without a head , another time it will be a floating head , another time a fake Gave Over and yet another time it will tun up or down the brightness/color/serpia
Switch your pad controls
write scary massages on screen directed at the player
... out of nowhere... a flash... a scary face on the screen ...
this game just trolled you so much it was scary
even Suguru Murakoshi was impressed , he like it so much that he added some of this stuff in Silent Hill 4
example :

"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

None of these ever happened to me, I assume because i always kept my sanity in tact. But either way this is not something to be so hyped about. Nice little additions indeed, butthe gameplay itself wasn't anything special and somewhat bleak, the story has good potential but were told in such a way that I got very bored somewhere at half of a game and there was no revelations or surprises since then.
It wasn't a survival horror. It wasn't even adventure horror like Resident Evil.
BO, in other hand, was really amazing and genuine game and concept and I would fund the hell out of remastered version or proper continuation of it.
Since we announced this Kickstarter campaign we have seen more support from our community than we had ever hoped for. Along with this support has come a host of a new exciting opportunities that will make the game better than we envisioned. As a result, we have chosen to temporarily take down the Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaigns on both Kickstarter and our own website on Thursday, June 6.
This doesn’t mean we are going away -- far from it. We’ll be re-launching the Kickstarter in just a few short weeks with a reveal of these exciting new developments.
As we’re closing the current Kickstarter campaign not a single dime from this campaign will be removed from supporters’ accounts and everyone from our website’s crowdfunding campaign will receive full refunds via PayPal. As we re-tool our campaign and continue development, the forums on our site will remain open and active and any interested fans can still join the ‘Order of the Unseen’ to see our progress and join in the fun of creating content for the game themselves.
We want to thank everyone who has participated, volunteered, and spoken up to support us. You are our community and we value you more than you know. Stay tuned and we’ll be back soon!

They closed the Kickstarter because it would fail and they say they did it because there were developments they want to share with us by starting a new Kickstarter!

It's kinda foolish to think that PC gamers could give money to Dyack for the spiritual episodic (12 of them!) sequel of a game that they've never had the chance to play
