Hey,

i have a problem with one of those stupid MS features of Excel! I usually don't work with Excel, so i am not a genius with it and some of you might find the question stupid.

I am working with a spreadsheet and i am trying to fill in numbers like 2,5 or 2.5 or 2-3. And everytime i do that, this stupid Excel replaces this with dates. How the fuck can i turn this stupid shit off! I have tried it with turning of autocorrection, but no luck. Of course i did look that up in the help section but nothing.

Anybody can help me, TIA Smile

btw i am using Excel 2002

Here's a couple of ways to stop that behavior:

1. Select the cells you will be modifying and format it as "Text"

2. When entering the literal string resembling a number, enter ' (single quote) before the string. Example:

123.567 ---> '123.567
2-3 ---> '2-3
