I did a bit of googling but couldn't get a satisfactory response.... Question is... I have been thinking about installing Vista ultimate on my new rig but have no clue what the state of warez playability is on the new OS. Are the new releases working in Vista? What about the ones where you have to mount an image in Deamon tools or the like? I could always stay with XP but want the damn DX10.

I'll say Daemon-tools works fine in vista. This is in the wrong forum.

I´ve been using Vista since i got my new PC, that was in October/november. I actually haven´t noticed any major problems, really. Everything ive tried has worked just as it did with XP. Warez/games/apps, (daemon tools too), most of my drivers (only had some problems with my wireless adapter, but thats Netgears fault for not giving a fuck). Watercooled 5950X \| AORUS Master X570 \| Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC \| 64Gb RAM \| 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p \| etc etc

good to hear, I've been thinking about upgrading to vista so I can play some of the games I have in dx10. I think I'll wait until SP1 is out though.

No problems here with vista, all my 100+ games work bar 1 or 2, manhunt is one and scarface spring to mind, the rest work grand Nick

Just dual boot el_brio & clragon. Keep XP for the few apps and games which won't work or the many which do not benefit of directx10, for them XP is often still faster.
