The normal City Life version was SF protected that's why there was a nice SFClone release. What's different/new in the World Edition?

I'll guess it has more world-famous buildings... Probably the same as SimCity 3000 World Edition.

There was also a cracked release from Reloaded.

"City Life: World Edition, the follow up to the critically acclaimed city builder, City Life, keeps all the great aspects of the original and expands the possibilities through exciting new content and features. Over 100 new buildings, including famous structures such as the White House, the Eiffel Tower, the Kremlin and others will be available in the game, along with new maps and a fully-integrated content editor. Now players will be able to create or customize buildings and share them online with other City Life: World Edition owners"

cf. http://citylife.cdvus.com/screenshots.php

"City Life: World Edition (...) will ship without Star Force copy protection. "

So this World Edition is just the US version of City Life with some new buildings? Well that doesn't sound very interessting. I guess the normal version is good enough for me.

Now that's a reason to buy this great game!

On a sidenote, that description of WE, if I didn't know it was from the site, I'd say it was copied word by word from SC3000 WE! It was exactly the same update for SC3000, new buildings and buildings designer.

According to mod at CDV:

"City life "Deluxe" is an addon for City Life that requires the original City Life to run and is distributed by Monte Cristo only. CDV North America will publish City Life "World Edition" which is a stand alone version (discount for those with the original) with support at the CDV forums, and only available in North America."

Is the Vitality version only an addon? If it's not, then homemade?

It's the World Edition, so it's the stand alone version.

Deluxe has standalone and addon versions. The vitality release is the standalone version. The addon version is download-version only and contains starforce.

Me and my neat skills are back at your service! Laughing

VTY "proper" seems to be done by some 1337 guy. NOT. Actually its pretty lame, all those code snippets they have presented are in fact left-overs of the Tages wrapper, which is no longer used after fixing all references from the code section. Conclusion: it's never used or executed, I'll better call 1-800-SCENEBSPOLICE.

The Vitality release is standalone, including the original plus the add-on. No need to have the original pre-installed.

Hrm. Vitality isn't the world edition its the European edition. I'm not sure if the exe's are compatible in between or not.
Can anyone confirm the crashes with Reloaded's crack?

Bla, they are completely different games to me. City Life is much more strategic than Sim City.
