Obviously, the majority of notable games coming to the PC in the future will be ports.

No, it's multi-platform. Learn the fucking difference.

theres no such thing as multi-platform - its just a fucking consumer-friendly bullshit term designed to soften the blow of whats basically a game being made FOR console, but with a simultaneous quicky pc port release.
all that being said, i thought this game was console only, didnt know it was hitting pc.

If you assume that most of the games will get a release on more than one electronic gaming-conduit (pc, consoles, whatever) the above has to be correct from the statistics alone. But since alot of game-titles will be exclusives to certain systems, the most annoying thing is the relative time-difference between releases for other platforms.
Still, more developers are writing engines nowadays to accomodate for development on multiple platforms (eg. id, unreal), so the above observation might becomes meaningless. Sure, in the past we have had our share of bad ports, but not because developers like to have shitty ports, but rather of economic necessities. The more complex the games become the more they have to gain from developing for multiple platforms. Thats why i firmly believe that most likely the console manufacturers and game-developers will come to terms with it in the future by commiting their energies on a gaming-framework that is less dependend on hardware. Gaming-platforms will have to find other ways to differentiate themselves (like the wii for example) to get the most money out of customers. And i highly doubt that the pc will ever cease to be the gaming platform for enthusiasts.
