Good god there are a lot of ignorant people on this thread. This is the status quo for EA. They drain the resources of a company dry then toss them and their employees out like a used beer can.
Companies that sell their company to EA are ignorant morons.

"The particular wing was responsible for titles like Def Jam, Fight Night, and the first two NBA Street games, among other titles."
Care factor so far is somewhere around 0 and 0

Fight Night 3 was great, but EA Chicago being shut down is a good thing. They were working on the second EA Marvel fighting game, which I seriously think is probably one of the least requested sequels of all time, so hopefully, their termination will prevent that game from ever seeing the light of day.
Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.

What? Don't tell me that you actually cared about EA's Chicago studio enough to have enough negativity towards it to be celebrating it's closure?

Well no worries then, because Vendetta and FFNY were both developed collaboratively by EA Canada and AKI (a Japanese developer famous for wrestling games). EA Chicago was only responsible for Def Jam Icon, the third and most recent game (which is considered by most to be the worst game in the series).
