It looks like nobody cares about the NDA. VR-Zone has published quite an article regarding NVIDIA's latest GeForce 8800GT video cards. I'm sure you'll find a lot of answers to your questions with this review.

alright so the 8800 GT is out today and the NDA should be lifted today as well so we'll start seeing shitloads of reviews now, hopefully including the crysis demo as well.

Now there's just the problem of supply and demand. I want to get one of these, but with performance like that and a price so low it'll be sold out really quickly. I can see lots of people even getting 2 of these for SLI. Together they're the same price as one GTX but will probably offer like 80% higher performance than a single GTX.

Second thing... where's the new enhanced 8800 GTS? I can see the GT popping up in a few shops already but the new 8800 GTS is nowhere to be found.

I guess they will be on backorder from day one, i will have to monitor their website on a hour basis to step-up asap. Crying or Very sad

Amazon evga 8800GT superclocked

edit: another good point is the mounted holes similar to the 7900, as they say over vr-zone, which means i won't lose the use of my Zalman VF900-cu. Smile

EVGA Super Super Clock is 700MHz
EVGA has finally announced its Geforce 8800GT series lineup. EVGA will offer four different versions with different memory, core and Shader clock speeds, and the top one works at 700MHz. All four look very handsome in blue.

I am wondering...8800GT x 2 SLI might just do that. But again...hang in there, the 9 series is not that far ahead. As i am running a GTX I can live with the 26-35 FPS...not perfect, but what the hell

The 8800GT is like made for SLI, due to the price.

yeah i have a gtx, and sli gt is pretty much what i said in the other post... you could almost get gtx sli levels of power with a gt sli, at the same price as a single gtx....

but...

i already have a gtx, so i could have sli gtx power for the price of one more gtx, where as for that same price i could get two gt's for almost gtx sli power. phew. everyone follow that? Very Happy

yup. makes sense.
I read somewhere that it's possible that Nvidia will start replacing all their cards with new enhanced 65nm versions over time. So maybe we'll get a new 8800 GTX as well, which would make the prices of the *old* version fall hopefully.

But your GTX should still be good enough until the next generation of GPUs arrive.
I just hope that we'll see some more optimization on the high end of crysis. It runs fine on old hardware at lower details, but runs pretty bad on new hardware on higher details. (which is understandable though... it does look absolutely awesome!)

Maybe we'll get a few FPS from tweaked drivers as well by the time the full version is out.

god damn, I wonder where ATI is in the midst of this all. It's bad enough they were 6 months late answering to the 8 series card and now nvidia steals the spot light....very small spot light from their cheap mid range card.

Who knows, maybe its better than the 8800GT with a similar pricetag Wink

Doubt it though Razz

I used to be such an ATI fan till I got tired of their cards drawing in more power and putting out more heat than necessary. Go buy or borrow an x800GTO and you'll see what I mean, christ that thing gets so fucking hot you could cook eggs on it, and that's just sitting at idle
