Bluray isn't out yet...
Quote: | NOTES:
IMAGiNE bringing you another release.....How To Train Your Dragon
Ok where do we start with this one :hmmm: well firstly thanks to the upper / capper on Relizlab for the video.
The audio was our own off our TS.
Now got to be totally honest with you and say we are unsure WHAT this actually is....video wise. The detail on it
looks like a screener, but then now and again you see a border on the left side appear and then disappear and also
on the end credits you can see a pulse on the yellow background.....which neither of then some be one a screener but are
more often or not found on cams.....
Anyway we've tagged it how the source we used was which was a 5.20gig 720p mp4 file so.....
|
They don't know either what's the source of video...

umm... wtf.. just because shit says 720, DOESNT MAKE IT HD.
if it dont say bluray, avoid it.
and the 'point' to them is to sucker in people who dont know any better congratulations on being the target audience

The "BRRip" label is usually attached to shitty Xvid releases, so that's not quality either.
And it doesn't have to be from bluray to be good. There are many HDTV and DTheater sources that look fantastic.

Ofcourse - but there really is no reason to make it mkv unless its hd..no?

MKV is useful for dual-audio stuff, but yeah... outside of HD/D-A, I reckon there's no reason or need for MKV and it just causes issues with non-standard players (like standalone, under-TV, ones)

i avoid hdtv rips for movies. had a bad experience with the rock a long time ago... tlf release, early days of hdtv, and it was terrible and its put me off for life. i still get hdtv rips for shows occasionally... man those station logos in america are big... and i dont have any problem with the quality on those releases... but i still just cant trust hdtv movie releases because of that one bad experience... oh wells.

Scene release
For example (quick finds, just to show quality):
Rush Hour 1998 1080p HDTV x264
Code 46 2003 1080p HDTV DD5.1 H.264

And of course, with such nice 1080p, the 720p is great too (what I used to watch back in the day when HDTV were the main source).
Bitches in Europe got nice channels with full 1080p30 streams at high bitrates...

trick is to download the first rar and extract that so you have an idea how it looks like, i can only remember 2-3 cases where the HDTV version wasnt an upgrade from the DVD

even tho I can now play those movies, I will still go with 700 MB Xvid vs 7 GB 'brrip'... the picture is the same on my 22" when I look from >1m so I don't see why I should dl sth that big (and with 1MBit/sec it takes like 3 days on/off dl'ing) when there is no big difference...

Hmm, the only LOTR HDTV releases I remember were the EE ones, and they had the extended parts upscaled from DVD.
But I had a look at the bluray release for LOTR and it really looks subpar I hope they do a better telecine process for the EE blurays in however years in the future when they decide to release them.
