|

Apparently it is now pretty certain the the MMO that Bioware was developing since 2006 is actually a KOTOR MMO!
Man that's just so awesome. After the downfall of Star Wars Galaxies, I've really been waiting for a new great Star Wars MMO like this.
Bioware is not a developer to screw around, so I'm pretty sure this MMO will kick some serious ass!
Great News!

Don't give a shit about it. Another stupid MMO without the plot or sense, PvM, PvP and levelling. I'd rather want Kotor 3!!! A REAL one.

Hum, i would love to have a KOTOR mmo, but i actually dont know if i can belive this rumour.
Since bioware are working on Dragon Age. http://dragonage.bioware.com/ since 2004 or more.
I personally cant understand why a company would make 2 MMO's at the same time. Hence, i dont belive this romur. But i can be wrong.

What made KOTOR such a great game, IMO, was the character driven plot. Plot is one thing I have yet to see in an MMO, at least anything greater than a half-hearted explaination as to why you're being sent out to collect 40 donkey testicles.
Still, perhaps Bioware are aiming to innovate? Given their track record, I for one am waiting to see what it's all about before condemning it.

hehe, one thing I really hate with mmorpgs (I take wow as an example now), is that you get sent out on retarded missions to collect god knows what. Example; Collect 7 dear heads.
Uhm, ok. I run along and kill the first Dear I can find, loot him...and WHAT?? You DON'T have a head for me to loot? Thats mighty weird. I can see one right in front of me... wait maybe I need a special skill to cut your head of...nooo..
And the grind...the wasted hours doing BORING stuff in a game.. Games for me is to have fun! Now not later.. I mean.. when I reach my goal there is a new already and you never get to have any real fun. Bah, fuck that. They must come up with something really different to get me on the hook.
To be really successful in a mmorpg you must probably either:
a) be unemployed
b) be a kid in school
c) one in a million who actually find time for it
I know there will be people who say they manage with only one-two hours per day, but how much content do you really experience then. I have played a few games and they all sink down to grind, grind, grind.imo

MMOs are definitely not for everyone but so many people play them that they definitely deserve to exist.
best mmo ever for me will always be ultima online before it was fucked up.
but anyway, let's just wait and see what bioware will do with this. who knows, maybe they'll revolutionize MMORPGs!

I read an interview with Raz Mazukah (or however you spell his name... the CEO of Bioware) and he said that they had been secretly working on this MMORPG and that it was going to contain everything Bioware was known for and that it was unlike anything currently out there right now.
but, he didn't say much more about... some other guy that was being interviewed with him said, "It's awesome".
I am definitely interested in seeing what it is and how it plays. This very well could end up being the first plot driven MMORPG.

I hope so, I HATE the 360 controller and the fact that you play it on your TV
I will probably get ME anyway, cause it looks the stuff.

MMO's rock. Most get kind of repetitive after a while though, but that's when you switch game. There's currently a vacuum at the moment. Last one I tried was LOTRO, but it only lasted for a couple of months before I got bored of it.
I'm hoping - although it's not an MMO in the traditional sense - Hellgate: London will last me until Age of Conan releases. Problem with non-mmo games is that I get tired of them so quick. It's almost like I'm always looking for a new game to play. In long timespans I dont feel that way when I got a good MMO going.
