Quote: | At the Intel Developer Forum in Taiwan, Intel has given attendees a sneak preview of its upcoming Core 2 Extreme QX9770 processor. The guys at Fudzilla have the scoop, and apparently, Intel's unreleased quad-core monster is a sight to behold.
The Core 2 Extreme QX9770 is based on the "Penryn" core, and it combines 45nm process technology with a clock speed of 3.2GHz and a bus speed of 1600MHz. That bus speed is 20% faster than the 1333MHz FSB in Intel's current fastest quad-core CPU, the 3GHz Core 2 Extreme QX6850.
Desktop chips with 1600MHz FSBs may not hit stores just yet, though. Intel's first 45nm CPUs—including the upcoming Core 2 Extreme QX9650—will have 1333MHz FSBs.
Incidentally, Intel commissioned Charles "Fugger" Wirth to overclock the QX9770, and the chip reportedly managed a whopping 5.6GHz. Fudzilla says it broke the SuperPi world record with a time of 8.4 seconds, as well.

I'll get smaller and smaller... anyway would like to see that monster in action. It'll probably cost a zillion $
