Does anyone know of a virtual web server that I can use on my machine? So I can write a website and put it on there to test it before I upload it to my host.

Thanks kaiko. I have no clue what I'm doing. I've never done this website writing stuff. I have no idea what I'm doing. Just want to test a site I'm writing with Drupal.

okay so for drupal i would suggest just installing Apache web server on ur machine as its PHP driven.
by installing apache you're not actually opening up ur machine to the web until u allow ur firewall to open port 80, so u should just be able to run it fine locally.

Drupal is sweet, been using it for a long time on several sites I've been involved with...
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

Uhm, why not use IIS? It's much more easy to manage and maintain than that Apache and its endless CFG files you have to edit line by line.

Internet Information Services
It comes with XP and Vista, though it has to be added in the Windows features in CP. In XP it is limited to 10 users of concurrent data providing, but there are ways to hack that. I'm really starting to like IIS7.
On another note, what is it with open source and stupid CFT/INI editing? What, do they think it's cooler? Same thing with Linux and the console...
