|
 |
i was wondering do you guys rename your scene releases like your games and your movies and music because i rename most stuff i get to the title of the movie or game or album. i sometime keep the same scene name as the tv shows but most of it is renamed like on a season of a show the folder name would have pdtv to show it is pdtv but the files inside are renamed to the episode and the season number it would be cool if the scene releases had some sort of description built into the file and they had a program they would rename it to its correct scene name just a thought
thanks for your time

I rename all my series from the scene-name. For example The.Simpsons.S1901.HR.PDTV.XviD-CTU becomes 1901 Simpsons - He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs. Just because I like having complete series on my video-computer and it is so much easier for find an episode that way.
But all games and movies I keep in their normal scene-released names. Oh and I also delete the iso/avi not the rars like lots of people do. Hate that.

No renaming, if I save anything (I mostly save games, dox and appz) they are stored in original folders, original filenames and archived.
As for TV-shows/movies I rename them, watch them and then remove the rar's and the unpacked files.

Yeah it's in hr(croatian) and my poor 200gb hard drive, is barely staying alive. I'ts minimum 6yrs old, probably more like 7-8 years. And croaks on me every few weeks. Windows just reportst error "cannot write to $mft" or something similar but then I leave it too cool off for a few hours and all is good again. BTW it's maxtor harddrive, if u wan't longetivity.
Never hard any irreverisble problems with it.

I also don't like Maxtor , but it's mostly due to the name. I mean :
Western Digital --> exotic !!!
Seagate --> mysterious !!!
Maxtor --> boooring ...
Just my two euros on the matter.

i too love the .'s and -'s, but i do rename the hell out of everything. i ditch the scene names, folders, and rars's for everything, and everything looks much neater.
why bother keeping scene names? there is no practical need and i couldnt give two shits what group released what.

i rename my movies and my games cause with my games they tell you who cracked it in the iso and movies well i only need to know if it is dvd ripped and if it is i place it in the main movie folder and rename it to "the movie (year)" and if it is cam or telesync i place it in the sub folder called telesync and watch it when it comes out on dvd i dl it then i delete is from that folder with tv shows i need to know whether it is pdtv or dvdrip or tvrip because i dont want tvrip and i need to know if the quality is good it doesn't matter what group released it i just need to know what format it is because if it dvdrip then the quality is going to be the same no matter what group released it with telesync it is different and cam because they have different sources of where it came from it wasn't straight from the dvd
Sig too big.

I rename almost everything, I cannot stand the ridiculous . and _ between names and worse of all is the .xvid.bla.blah crap stuck on the end of divx releases.. Personally i dont give a shit who released it or what format it is in.. If it works thats good enough for me.

I allways keep stuff like games in the original format when burning to dvd, so if ever you can't read a file or you get a cyclic redundancy error you will know what group released it and what rarfiles to look for. Rename your shit and you'r left wondering what version it was. For shows and movies this don't matter.
