lol, no one knows whether there'll be life on earth in 2029 but they've already wasted monees on the movie
well, the Phoenix Lander is due to arrive on Mars in some 6 months, and the sole purpose of that mission is to find evidence of past or present remnants of martian life, I guess that by 2029 when we land, we would have a pretty good idea if Mars had or has life.
and the idea of going to Mars is not only about the quest for life, in the long run Mars is the only planet in this system close enough to Earth to be terraformed and colonized.
I'm really looking forward for the manned mission to Mars, my only hope is that we didn't have to wait another 22 years, there is a great deal of invesment by Japans Space Agency and European Space Agency in Mars projects, but no word yet on the possibility of a shorter scheudle.
