Last night I deleted my vista partition using achronis and resized my HD. This went fine and I was able to copy files to the hard drive etc.. Using XP.

When I turn it on today all I get is a flashing line and thats it. I tried using fixmbr but that never worked I then tried fixboot but it said my hard drive did not exist!

Boot from your XP cd and get into the recovery console. Then run "chkdsk /F /R /X" this will force a checkdisk on your harddrive maybe it will solve your problem.

believe vista overwrites something with the boot settings so when you uninstall it, it'll erase the XP one. Leo knows quite a bit about that, ask him.
