agree totally .... spent more time getting fixed than I have played the box of shit ...
I got a PS 3 today and feel a whole lot better than with my 360, where I was scared to play it too long ..... 360 has sold so much cos many people have bought 2 and more in some cases.
I'm not a sony fanboy, if my 360 worked I would say it was the best between my 3 consoles but the fucking thing doesn't work .... I'm waiting for the newer models, but even the new model as reported on maxconsole today has got the 3 red lights of death .....

Mine's never frozen once. Had it for, umm, i think about a year or something.
Had Gears of War coop-sessions lasting 10 hours or so without any issues whatsoever.
I dunno, some people just get unlucky with crappy boxes i suppose.

dont know what to say
i really enjoy this xbox360(on the times it works)
but its just not reasonable that you would spend so much time "fixing" it its not even one year old this piece of crap.
and i barely play 1-2 hours on weekend thats it.
i wonder whats the deal with this shit why it happens to some very quickly(few weeks, days)
and for some after ayear+ or afew months
i always have an air conditiioning on.
i wonder if it would be cheaper to buy a used refrigerator for it:)
i am sure it would costs less, just need to make sure its in freezer all the time(not even sure that will help with this crap)
ok ,ill start working on wires through fridge:) and see if that helps:)
(maybe that will be a requirement for next version:) ,freezer requirred to play some games:))

Well a PS3 is a bit too expensive for a Blu-Ray movie player since most games are craped (exclusives ones). Games are too expensive, 80$ with taxes here and you cant hack the PS3 yet...so thats a NO GO for me.
If i cant hack it, i wont buy it!

I got a 360 pretty early and after playing a bunch of games a bit (my gamerscore was at like 1000 at that point, so never played a lot due to the lack of games I'm interested in) I decided to go back and try playing dead rising again like a year after it came out.
so yeah, I played it a lot, more than any other game. a few hours at a time sometimes. and of course just before I get to the boss it started freezing on me.
it still worked though, just an occasional freeze requiring a reset.
but after 5 or 6 of those freezes it gave me the red ring of death.
so then I fixed it using the 12cent fix I think it was called. Used 4x2 eurocent instead of 4x3 us$ cents btw.
so yeah that was like 2 or 3 months ago.. and I'm so afraid that it could die again any second that I barely play anything. I only reactivated my 360 a few weeks ago so I can play halo 3.
Now that that's over my 360 is going into cryo sleep again and will be reactivated only on blockbuster games that I just have to play, like mass effect and assassin's creed.
I sure hope it'll survive those games.
oh and I'm sure as hell not buying any games for this unreliable piece of junk. no way I'm gonna pay 60€ for a game when the console could die at any time...
oh well, at least I still have my good old PS2 which is reliable and quiet, 2 properties I can't say my 360 has.
and yeah, ps3 doesnt seem to have problems like that, but it doesn't seem to be worth buying one right now, at least not for me. I'm gonna wait for games that I gotta play. Dynasty warriors 6, final fantasy 13, metal gear solid 3, etc.
