I believe kill hannah is pretty damn emo. Maybe not A Thorn For Every Heart's new album but come on Boy Like Gilrs is also pretty emo. There are different types of emo music
Differences like from The Used & From Autumn To ashes to bands like Paramore and Daphne Loves Derby. But all those bands are quite emo. Paramore's debatable but its paramore theyre totally emo lol

Actually, none of those bands are really emo. Sure, they´re mislabeled as emo today because people started doing it a few years ago (and i really dont know where it came from). Those bands are just rock, call it pop-rock or whatever. But its not EMO.
You want emo? Since emo sprung from hardcore, emo being emotional hardcore, examples of bands that really are emo/screamo/emocore, are Rites of Spring, Funeral Diner, Embrace, Fugazi, Indian Summer, Raein, The Apolexy Twist Orchestra, Texas is the Reason..
I really think you should look up some of these bands to really realize the difference between real emo and todays misconception of emo.
Im just trying to help you out here I just dont like those bands being marked as emo when theyre really, really not.

Good band to get into "emo" :

They borrowed some stuff from SDRE but they're still good.

Well according to Wikipedia, I guess I was definitely talking about the third wave of emoness.

Still, I do not consider the "third wave" being emo at all. It´s just way too far and different from what the original emo bands. Seriously, think about it, if you´ve ever heard a REAL emo-song, i mean a real intense one, where you can really fucking hear the intense emotion, mostly from the singer. Compare that to crap like MCR or From First to Last, its an insult to the original bands by placing them in the same category.
