First 3 seasons are the best because of David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) <3
After that the show becomes dull, the main cast starts dying and are replaced with i-d-i-o-t-s. The plot becomes redundant in EVERY sense of the word. Yes, I very much regret continuing to watch this show after the third season.

yeah i was just going to post what everyone else seems to have said... this is one show that was great, but really has run its course and is turning into derivative 'been there, done that... 3 or 4 times in fact' crap.
just like the simpsons, its a show thats gone on longer than it should have.

im still waiting for the season where the terorrists finally kill off his annoying bitch of a daughter (seriously... series 1 and everything that followed were such letdowns because the bitch just kept-on-surviving! shes like the most annoying character that shows ever had) and then jack goes rambo on their asses... no mercy, just butchering everything, and then going down finally in a hail of gunfire at the end... that'd be one hell of a sweet season.

ok even though i commented, this is the first time ive read the plot summary... bringing tony back? ok i admit hes one of the best characters the shows ever had, so itd be nice to actually have a character on the show i care about, but come on... no way did he not die, thats just idiotic.
anyway, season 6 i assume it is, just started here in nz (yeah i know, were way far behind) - the nuke going off was pretty cool, didnt expect it... good to see jack plugged that black bastard (sounds racist, but i dont know the guys name, he is a bastard, and he is black, so deal  ) - that bit rocked... dunno why jack went all sissy and weird after it though... your a man ffs, stop acting like a pussy, throwing up and sulking like a little girl... the new president is utterly useless though, heysbert or whatever the original guys name was, was a good president... that twit that followed him was cool as well, just watching him make more and more mistakes (i liked that season actually), but the new guy, the bro of the original pres, is just a rubbish leader.

you know usually the fans cry their favorite character died and demonstrate with pikes and torch..in vain. but this show is so great that they bring bag uninteresting characters from grave at fans dismise.
seeing the show usually flatter the latent xenophobic tendencies vs blacks arab chinese etc of the redneck US masses that are pro bush and pro sionists, I don't expect this show going down till theres a democrat at power. (which shouldnt happen anysoon I concede)
esthetically speaking the show became failure when they started to hire "trendy ppl" from movies/tv shows for a season just to boost audience. The perfect example is "sam" from "lords of the rings" appearing as director of CTU. when I first saw the guy I swear I laughed 20 minutes.

The first of the major networks has unveiled its writers-strike-adjusted schedule, and as feared, one major show is getting postponed indefinitely.
Fox is delaying the seventh-season premiere of thriller 24, so that the new season "can are uninterrupted, in its entirety." The show was originally due to air January 13, but now has no scheduled start date.
