well imagine someone like michael bay doing it... 2 hours of gunfights, explosions, and other shit... woulda been a dumb as shit movie, but it woulda been fun to watch... but now it wont even have that...

Games to movies are always crap, but with uwe directing it it´ll turn out a ubercrap.

wow... they spent a long time filming for a uwe boll film... usually its done over the weekend in uwe's back yard with some cheap painted backgrounds on his bedsheets...

i hope he does. i mean ive long since given up on great game-movie projects... now im just looking forward to just how horribly they can all go wrong, and ESPECIALLY look forward to the backlash from hardcore fans... i want to see him to half life 1 and 2... and even write his own half-life 3. i also want to see him do a doom game (complete with original doom 1 and 2 gameplay footage spliced into the movie!!!), and id love to see him do a metal gear solid movie, a splinter cell film, a syphon filter movie, and a monster hunter movie.
the only thing i dont want him to do is a max payne movie, because i think thats one of the few games that could possibly convert to film incredibly well... but as it stands, it'll probably be another fuck-up like usual... so far only christophe gans and paul anderson have managed to do game movies right (and im talking more about mortal kombat than resident evil in regards to paul anderson)

actually thats bs. you CAN take the BASIC idea of a game, ie doom (minions from hell overtaking mars research station), and build on it to create a great movie. doom is just an example of a game that could make a great movie... its just unfortunate that the doom movie we got was shit... but what do you expect when you put a fucking rap director at the helm...
having a game as a basis for a movie is not an excuse to make shit. we DO end up with shit though, purely because the producers are looking to make a quick buck on the back of hard work in building up something great by the developers, and by extention, the fanbase that its gained.
and game doesnt need a great fully realised fleshed out story to make a great film... just a great idea, with people interested in making the most out of it. and there in lies the problem.
