+ it seems to have great SFX and the guys behind this movie made the effects for alot of great movies (fe. 300)

If you remember the 1st ALIEN/PREDATOR films and are old enough to have seen them in the cinema....you will remember that you where scared SHITLESS!!!!...why? Because of the psychology of the films. Nothing was really shown clearly, if it was it happened fast and also the design was TOTALLY groundbreaking.
Seeing this trailer makes me think of all the other fast cut action flicks that we have seen a 1000 times. Ok cool effects and some smart looking kids (I guess the trend now) I will see it 100% but if it will awesome...doubt it.
I guess anything with ALIEN or Predator in it would be cool...but its getting sort a like a cow...low on milk

i cant believe people who actually saw the trailer think it looks good... wtf is wrong with you people... it looks cheap and tacky, the visual design of the film looks crap, the production value looks 20x worse than avp (which i will say had fantastic design and production value... it was just poorly written and had crap atmosphere) - did you guys see the pred's eyes BLINK when it went invisible ffs? and did you see the carbon copy ripley character... what a fucking ripoff, the only time ive seen such a blatantly lame attempt to copy something important from a 'previous' film, was the cover of princes of the universe in highlander source... and we all know how fucking 'cool' that turned out... yeah this movie looks like such shit, and i actually had reasonable hopes for it given that it was being directed by visual effects people, and often they can actually do a decent job of things... but yeah this looks WORSE than the first avp film... ill still download this when it shows up, but the first avp looks atleast 5 times better than this shit
only positive thing i can say about this, is that it looks bloody and the body count should be reasonably high. but i should hopefully remind you that the alien films were so great because of LACK of blood... in aliens, the greatest film ever, there was pretty one just ONE blood smear in the entire film... blood does not make a good horror movie... but in this case, im afraid its all we have to look forward too  ..but tacky and cheap sum this film up pretty well i think...
i hope james cameron or ridley scott decide to show up at fox one day and say 'i just saw avp2... fuck this shit, give me the damn franchise and ill show you bastards how to make a proper avp film...'

I hope this one will actually be focused on the *aliens vs predator* thing...
The thing that I disliked most about AvP was that weird woman suddenly becoming rambo, killing aliens and befriending the predator. it's just absolutely ridiculous.
Judging by the trailer, with all those people getting killed it sure looks like the humans are just there to get killed in the most horrible ways by aliens and predators, which is good!

everyones open to their own preferences and interpretations, but i find you missed the point of the alien and predator films... i found humans to be the most important and central aspect of all the films
though i do agree the chick in avp was just completely fucking idiotic and totally unnecessary. i thoroughly hated the bitch, how she magically became more powerful than arnie purely because she was black and a woman (rolls eyes at how fucking pathetic and out of control political correctness is becoming - you just KNEW the white men in the film were going to fucking die, didnt you...) and also her interaction with the pred... but like i said... avp was great, apart from the whole fucking STORY side of it... production value and design were brilliant. paul anderson must be stopped from writing stories though... and the producers must be castrated for toning down the atmosphere in that film!
regardless...
anyone who says this film looks anything other than pure fucking garbage needs a good kick in the balls.

its just a matter of fact that anyone who is of the opinion that avp2 looks good, is just flat out wrong...
but hey, if YOU think avp2 looks great, then wonderful for you... given the amount of fucking horrible films that have been out this year, i bet YOUR year was full of wonderful movies to watch.

yeah I dont know wtf they were thinking with AvP its like they were trying to give it a lower rating to bring in the younger crowds instead of the old fan base of either movies series. Personaly the atmosphere from the original AvP was a joke. Though AvP 2 looks alot better it still will never compare to the original movies.

The female did ruin it but it had nothing to do with her being black or female. She was just miscast would have been more at home in a BET sitcom. |

wasnt THE reason, but it certainly contributed to what was wrong with the film... the pg rating alone didnt kill it either, it was a whole lot of things
bad atmosphere
bad story
bad dialogue
bad characters
bad choice in making it a mainstream pg movie.

Reminds me of that South Park episode where they run around trying to watch the trailer of the new Terrence and Philip movie and it's just a bunch of letters flying at the camera. And you're right about the visual effects being worse than those of the original movies from 15 years ago.
