I have 2 gig of OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 / 1066MHz / NVIDIA® SLI™-Ready Edition
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_8500_sli_ready_edition_dual_channel

Maybe as you know the BIOS is not setting the values to what it should be in standard settings. But when I set the Mhz to 1066, V to 1.2 and the timing to 5,5,5,15
I get freezups. I suspect this has to do with the Mobo/BIOS. As i am running a soft mod version of VISTA I can't really update the BIOS and stuff as i will get the royal.sys error/blue screen.

Any ideas?

Hmm I have the exact same motherboard & ram when I get home I will try to change the timings.. Currently they are set on the default SLI-Ready mode which place them at 1066 mhz and voltage on 1.3 and that works fine :S

Raise your mem voltage. That should be enough to put the system stable at those timings

Well, just tríed the Timing and Voltage and it freezes. Also if I activate SLI-Ready mode I think the OC of the CPU will go out the window. As far as i know that has to be set to off when you OC the CPU.
What are your exact settings there Mutantius?

Do you run in Expert mode or Automatic with the timings?
Or would any of you guys have a link to a gudie for this stuff?

Found a thread on the OCZ forum, with some settings
SLI Memory =Expert
FSB Mem Clock= Unlinked
FSB(QDR) =1066 ( This is normally the value you OC the CPU with or ? I have this higher)
MEM(DDR) =1066
Memtimings (Expert) 5,5,5,15,2T
2.1v

So far seems to be stable...but I will run some games etc.

I found this on the EVGA Forum.
http://evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=61146&mpage=1&key=&
Gonna try that setting for a while. The main thing there is running everything synced.

Anyhow try it it when you get home and lets see what results you get.

Cheers!

Well unfortunately currently I can even begin to play with the CPU itself, lack of proper cooling fan (stockfan :/) and reasonable airflow.

What I find...wierd or at least interesting is that if you run the RAM linked/synced you will run at much lower Mhz but as you run 1/1 I guess you get as much out as possible...or?
Current setting (from Lavalys Everest)

I guess could be better but...

Hmm quite weird... Anyway just got home and the ram is currently running 2.3v and they are running at exactly the same as yours:

SLI Memory =Expert
FSB Mem Clock= Unlinked
FSB(QDR) =1066
MEM(DDR) =1066
Memtimings (Expert) 5,5,5,15,2T

Been performing quite stable!

Actually 5 min after I wrote "Found a thread on the OCZ forum, with some settings

The rig froze

So now I am running Linked/Synced...just had a nother Blue Screen. Lowerd the OC on the CPU and also the Voltage a bit and lets see how it goes. Running 3.1 Mhz and

I might go back to your setting but up the Voltage as I only had it at 2.1 when it froze.
