i leeched rld's D3 and nogrp's RoE.

after the installation of both i downloaded latest 1.3 patch and installed it, then i got tnt's nocd , patched the exes. but when i try to run both d3 or RoE it prompts be a window that cdkeys are invalid and rld's keygen generated keys are all invalid also. if you click cancel, the game(s) exit.

in TNT nfo it says that:

Quote:
Now the Crack
-------------
Some of you will see that your old Doom 3 Keys are no longer working with
version 1.3. There is an extra check now & those KeyGen created keys do not
work anymore...

Do not get your hopes up! This will not allow you to play ONLINE without a
unique and valid CD Key. It only stops the game from authenticating your CD
Key for Single Player.

v1.3 added more checks over v1.2. It does a local CD-Key check now as well as
the previous online CD-Key check before you can even gain access to the Main
Menu. This crack will allow you to play Single Player without a valid Key so
that you may try out the game some more BEFORE YOU GO AND BUY IT. Now, go buy
the game and show ID SOFTWARE that you love their work!

More Info:
----------
We were trying to find a way to allow a person to join a multiplayer server
without needing a valid CD Key. We could trick the game into doing a
Version Update Check instead of a CD Key AuthCheck, but it was not helping.
We ASSUME the Server code is setup to disallow a client to join until
id Software's Master Auth server sends a validation message to the server
that you wish to join. But, you can not force ID's own server to lie,
reporting that your bad key is really good. It would seem that you would need
a client & server crack to do this.

ž Installation ž
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Update your game version.
2. Always make a backup copy of your game executable(s) first, because
future update patches may require the original file(s):
Doom3.exe
3. UnRAR the archive to your game directory, overwriting any existing files.
Always unRAR with full paths!
4. Play Single Player.
Discover that you love the game.
Head over to your local software retailer.
Purchase Doom 3 and perhaps the Addon Pack.
Stop off for a Fruit Smoothie on the way home.
Back at your run-down shack of a home, install your new legit Doom 3.
Hey, try some multiplayer fragging action.
Thank TNT for letting you evaluate Single Player.
but i can't go to main menu and/or play singleplayer at all, it quits the game if you don't insert legal key. i suppose id blacklisted rld's keygen keys with the patches, but what keys should i insert then?
The 1.3 patch added a extra protection layer wich checks the cd-key against a online server so you need to block that server either via a firewall or a the hosts file.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.etc
Aside from some example text it should look somewhat like this:
Code:
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # källserver
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # klientvärddatorn x
127.0.0.1       localhost
Now just add the server that checks the keys under the default localhost like this:
Code:
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # källserver
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # klientvärddatorn x
127.0.0.1       localhost
127.0.0.1    q4master.idsoftware.com
127.0.0.1    idnet.ua-corp.com
(q4master is obviously from Quake 4 wich uses a similar method to check the serial.)
The game should work just fine after this is done. Smile
Jbeckman: yeah, i tried with hosts already. didn't help, also i put firewall to block everything d3 wants to do - nothing.
i downloaded the tnt's win9x fix pack, and it contained D3ROE3_C.EXE file - it should also stop online authentication, but didn't help
now trying with mint fix
edit: ah fuck, mint's one screamed wrong api dll - i suppose previous cracks fucked up already the exes, and i of course didn't make backups (again uninstall/install).
one question actually..
should i install patch 1.3 after d3 has installed or after RoE installation? in reality it shouldn't matter, but still maybe it might have some conflict or effect between cracks?
edit: alright, did clean install and using only mint crack, but still it screams something about wrong api at the console
After RoE. I think it does matter.
Install D3, then RoE, then the patch.
