Yes, so far selling is what my plan is. You are right about mech. issues. I didn't know what dirty tran fluid meant.
It just bad luck that I sold my old car that worked really good for something newer that can't even drive a hwy uphill, (small incline at that)
Oh well. Thanks for the luck

I bought it from a dealership. The dealership didn't know because it only happens on long drives up steep hills.
Nope it wasn't me. I didn't fry anything and it wasn't in underdrive. i don't think that would kill the trannie anyway. I could be wrong tho.
Anyway I am in Calgary now. Went to the zoo. Camped 2 nights on the way here. Last night was just outside the city. Drove into the city this morning and got a hotel. Going to see the tyrell (sp) museaum and the hoodoo's. It is late and I can't spell.
Going to Bamiff in a couple of days.
I am in the hotel right now on the room computer.

I didn’t do a trade in. I sold my van independently. I got $10,000. (Can) for it. It was in great condition though. This new one cost $10,200.
The new transmission is about $2,700. so far. They found some other stuff too, a bad axial. They are keeping the parts too so I know what they fixed.
I was really looking forward to some good camping and off road stuff this summer. Oh well. I can still do the smaller stuff.

Thats sucks pistol. I had to cut short my trip to Vancouver Island last week because the friction plate on my 2001 911 broke right while i was shifting in the tunnels (Snow sheds) at the summit of rogers pass. It was scary shit, and i had to get out of the tunnels so my clutch got destroyed in the process. And since its a C4 (AWD) i had to hire a flatbed to get her back to Calgary. But i just rented a car, and went to the cabin for the week.
You got your truck quite recently didnt you. I bought my car at BMW gallery, and they so far have covered all the service cost, minus my tow charge (Thank god for AMA). I didnt have a warranty or anything because BMW cant warranty Porsche. I would try and get the dealer to cover the majority of the costs. Its there fault they sold you a lemon, not yours. And if they value there reputation, they should cover all the repairs.
Dont worry, summers not over, you still have lots of time to get everything fixed.

I love hope BC, when my great aunt was still alive, we used to visit her in hope. I love lake in the woods, its so blue, and full of crayfish.

@Nouse
Kinda
Thats a 911 GT2 Turbo 996 coup i think. Thats a little out of my price range.
Mine is a 911 C4 996 cab. I have 18inch Turbo rims, and the upgraded Xeonon head lights.
Heres a picture i took while she was sitting at the gas station at the summit, waiting for the flatbed.
I cant afford a Turbo, hence no side scoops and i have a retractable spoiler. Its black on black, with a 6-speed. I have a top down picture that ill post later in the photo thread. It does the car more justice.

The best thing is, that they havent changed alot. i think the 996 body style started in 2000 and ended in 2006. So most people assume my car is worth 100K -120K , but i picked it up for less than half that. I could have done smarting things with my money, but you only live once right. If i sell it next year, i can always say i owned a 911.
And now i know why Porsche drivers are so smug, it is one of the funnest cars i have ever driven.
@Pistol
Sry for derailing your thread.

Ya, Japanese cars seem to last longer. My family6 always buys fords because it is american. (he forgets he is Canadian.)
@bigperm
thank god I didn't need a tow. I have BCAA so I think I am covered for 300 km but still.
So I got the transmission fixed. I found a great place. My dad scoped it out for me too. He is a mechanic but on the side of an engineer. He usually deals with industrial equipment but still he knows his stuff. He felt he wasn't getting a 'snow job', his words. Anyway it was about $2800. for a rebuid and it has a warranty for 40,000 km or 2 yrs. Whatever comes first. You have to be carefull with these types of warranties. I could tell the partner was a bit ticked off at the other partner who gave me the quote because I got a deal. They made a list of everything else they noticed as well. They fixed the mounting of the external cooler as well. My mechanic mounted it behind the plates so there was no air flow. (I don't need it was a rebuilt transmission anyway) I have to fix an axil. The wheels are stock and there are no chips in them whatsoever. You know the previous owners never took it off road.
I swear I have the shittist if luck right now. My tansmission, my mac is fried. I tried to repair it but I can't even do that. I am on my old mac G4 and it is working not so good which is weird becaused it was fine upstaires. It hasn't even been hooked up to internet in like 1 yr. (It is the game computer) My cel, which I hardly use is freezing a bit and it isn't a memory thing.
My body is falling apart too. Life is so unfair.
I had a great trip tho. Mostly driving I stayed in hotel for 2 nights but campgrounds otherwise. I took the no 3 (follow the crow) and followed the border a bit and then went up to Calgary. Found my sisters old house no problem, took a picture. My parents want me to delete it because it is going to upset her. I just wont show her. Driving back I went through Bamif and Jasper. You have to pay money everyday you are there which sucks, just for being in the national park. All the campgrounds were full and most of the motels as well. The driving and the mountians were the best. I ate out at one restaurant in Calgary. They had a salad bar. Mostly I bought food at a grocery store and used the tailgate as a table.
I went to a club across from the hotel. (called kings head) we have one here too but it is more of a pub not a club. It was weird and I couldn't figure it out at first. Then it hit me. Everyone was white. 100%. I have NEVER been around that many white people in my life.
@bigperm
Do you have anymore trips planned. Vancouver island is great. I have a kayaking trip on the coast planned. In the Nootka area and down Calvin Creek. Clavin is awsome because it has a fresh waterfall so you at least be clean and stink free.
@mark
I don't want to go camping in my backyard. I don't like the city crackhead wildlife

Yep jap cars are designed and built better. Problem is that even the smallest hit will turn your car into a crashed can of spam.

Well i just got back from Shuswap again (3rd time this year) and im going out at least once more on the labor day long weekend. I have to close the cabin up and get the boat winterized. Then in Oct im off to spain to do some diving for 3 weeks. And i still may goto mexico in Nov, for a wedding. Im trying to make it to the island, i want to dive the kelp forests and my friend is a dive master there. He also said we could dive with sea lions.
Dam work keeps on getting in the way. hah.

Wow I am so jealous of your trips.
So far my summer has been the shits. My axil seal was shot so I had to get that fixed too. It was like $500. I was quoted $300 for it but then they said the bearing were shot too. I went to a general mech and I think he is ripping me off. I caught him in a lie.
My summer fun money is wiped out plus lack of car.
