Agree with Parallax. You can have extreme unluck with one of the MSI cards... it doesn't cooperate very well with the NEC.

Here's a recommendation you should stay away from - LG

Drive performance is average. Getting firmware updates is hopeless. You are left no choice but to get dodgy third-party updates.

What about LiteOn? Or more specifically Liteon LH-20A1P 20x DVD+/-R Double Layer DVD-Writer?

I personally choose always NEC because of the excellent price and performance they deliver. I don't recommend Plextor to anyone because of their price when you could have a similar product from NEC cheaper and with excellent performance.

well 400 SEK you told me... well, its not far from the one Parallax_ recommanded, but still. Think I bought the NEC for 315 NOK. Works just as fine.

What i mean with lol.. is that a cheap DVD burner was one of the best bought in your life ^^
Well, practical and a source for free games for sure..

Am I the only one who sees no difference in what DVD writer you buy? I've got plenty and never noticed any difference. One of mine bust, but I sent back and got a new one free.

Wouldn't it be better to make an iso and then mount/test the iso before burning it?

Since my Pioneer 111D coughed and wheezed itself into silicon heaven a few days ago, popped out and picked up an Optiarc AD-5170A for £21.50. Works fine and great value Smile

Ok i will try to say it more english like Rolling Eyes
My DVD reader{not burner} from LG that lasted 5 years and was great died on me some time ago hmmm like 4 months ago , now i read and burn all my DVDs on my other drive
that is a DVD/CD/ burner from LG Gsa-4163B that i have for like 3 years now , its great and still burns my DVD but i have troubles from time to time about reading DVD DL aka DVD9

SO must buy a new DVD reader or/and burner with good error correction , was thinking about Pioneer but don`t know what model , can some one recomend me a good one

Optiarc - an alliance of NEC and Sony , hmm interesting never knew they joined forces
