Ok, so I don't really know what this bebo website is, but it seems my kids unkle (he is young) has been going on it and breaking his laptop. Well, thats the story I'm told. I got rid of the spyware (Dr AntiSpy and Virus Protect Pro were the rouge applications), but was wondering if anyone knew if this website was well known for spyware?

Or does anyone have any information on the two rouge applications?

Bebo is horrible, I don't know alot about the spyware you mentioned by I had to get rid of some similar to what you discribe and I used Vundofix.

A recommendation is downloading Ad Muncher and using that, Its a great program for blocking nearly all ads.

lol, I had children climbing on me at the time, my spelling was the least of my worries Wink!

I got rid of them both this morning, but was more interested in were they came from. The unkle claims he only goes on MSN and BEBO, but clearly that isn't the case if these "applications" dont come from there... Razz

LMAO! Found the culprit, although I can't decide if it was the uncle or not.. either way, does anyone have a guide to disabling IE without doing too much cocking around?

Also, can someone recommend a decent keylogger/internet spying type tool so I can track the usage on this laptop ?

The easier way:
Quote:
Step 1. From IE select Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings.

Step 2. Put a tick in the check box next to "Use a Proxy Server for your LAN ...”

Step 3. Type in "0.0.0.0" in the address box and "80" in the Port box. Don't type in the quote marks of course, just what's inside them.

Step 4. Click OK.

What you've done is set up a dummy proxy server 0.0.0.0 that goes nowhere.

For your keylogger/internet spying, "actual spy" seems to do the trick, if you can find a full version.
