I was wondering, if anyone knows (anyone who is playing guitar) is it possible to, somehow, software tune your guitar several steps up or down? Since I'm using Guitar rig instead of real amp, I was wondering is that possible... would save me great amount of time...

You could always use an octave effect and use "detune" it'll drop or raise your sound a few steps. You can literally get your guitar to sound like a bass.
http://www.digitech.com/products/whammy.htm I had this pedal for awile and was able to do it.
