Right, i have the capable funding to order theGTX next week, providing, that well, what i'm asking is, is it worth the money, beside's the obvious reason's of Crysis and Assasin's Creed, from current owner's is it worth paying out for, some people say wait 6 month's for better hw, but i need something that will last a anything up to 1 year maybe more, feedback would be appreciated,
Thank's in advance,
Peace V.H.

Get it. I have it and enjoy it immensely. Now that the Radeon is out (and it sucks btw), seems like the 8800GTX will be the strongest card for a long time.

Not like you need anything else to motivate your puchase but interesting to look at nevertheless:

Just further proof the card is amazing and actually worth the steep price paid.

why does it suck?
it's cheap and has great perfomance for the price...

it was originally supposed to compete with the 8800GTX if I remember correctly and it's having troubles keeping up with the GTS, it's still in the price range of the GTS and still loses and draws more power than the GTX. Then again, according to someone else I'm a fanboi so I guess me telling this to you would be me trying to deceive you

^I made a thread asking the same sh1t. Leo gave me the same sh1t. I then proceeded to sh1t my pants due to the performance. Sh1t.

i too also have the gtx myself personally and i quite certainly believe in thinking that it really kicks ass.
i think i hit a bit of a wall with my processor though as its a quad core so im probably running into problems with the fsb because the frame rate does drop below 30 on doom 3 with ultra settings and 8x aa (4x runs silky smooth), and oblivion (highest res, with hdr lighting and 4xaa does occasionally stutter a bit, but css, fear, everything else runs maxed out beautifully. i dont really like nvidias control panel for the graphics card, i think ati's is much nicer, but thats my only complaint

There is an sdk put out by microsoft with dx10 demos but not really worth your time unless yer a programmer interested in finding out what the new features are.

Would a 8800GTS of 320/640MB would be good against the price of the 8800 GTX?

320MB should be banned. It's crap. 8800GTS 640 is OK, but if that's what you're aiming for, maybe one of those 2900XT would be better, as they are cheaper.

Why ? to this day there aren`t games that use 256ram textures - weird exception of it is GRAW and its unrealistic ultra textures that turn on on a 512ram card , and most of games use the computers ram which in case of vista will be 3gigs to run games on normal speeds when 1 gig is eaten by the system .

You know, I'm starting to think you are too dumb to be Hfric! You were told some time ago (when you asked about the 320MB version) that it can't run even an old game like Q4 on highest settings because of its low memory.
Every game uses the system's RAM, that's not the point. The point is that fetching textures from the main RAM to the GPU's RAM takes time, precious time that lowers fps.
Are you playing dumb on purpose?

You're buying a card for a game that isn't out yet? I bought my Geforce 2 GTS STALKER. Look how that turned out! I am confident that my Voodoo 3 will play Duke Nukem Foreva though!

Why would you approach a video card purchase with flawed logic like that? It makes no sense to me.
