Just reinstall XP and got 2 annoying things that i cant find a way to remove them.
First, there was some apps installed and they had a shortcut for them in the control panel but after i uninstalled the apps, they are still listed in the control panel with dead shortcut. How can i remove those?
Second, in the task bar where the clock is, theres always those annoying "chat bubbles" poping up saying this and that. How can i disable that?

anythign in the taskbar can be stopped from
start>run>msconfig>startup tab>uncheck anything you don't want in there. Be carefull with the .dll's theres some in there you may think are useless but are vital for running certain things.
Most the time the bubbles stop popping up after it knows you read them by click on teh bubble or something.

You can certainly tweak or correct all that with Tuneup utilities:
- For the balloons -> TuneUp System Control -> Taskbar > Uncheck "show balloons in the notification area".
- For the non removed control panel's icons a simple TuneUp RegistryCleaner's pass should do that.
