Hello. Smile

I have a strange problem with this release. I call it strange cause it seems (from the comments) so far I'm the only one who had problems. The installation didn't give me any problems whatsoever, I burned the app in two CDs (as expected) and then unpacked shock.jar in the default directory of JBuilder 2005. But here is what I get when I run it from Command Prompt (as instructed):

Code:
C:\Borland\JBuilder2005>java -jar shock.jar
SHOCK presents JBuilder 2005 Enterprise
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/borland/sanctuary
/lm/mgr/Res
        at com.borland.sanctuary.lm.mgr.SlipException.<clinit>(Unknown Source)
        at com.borland.sanctuary.lm.mgr.SlipManager.importSlip(Unknown Source)
        at com.borland.sanctuary.lm.mgr.SlipManager.char(Unknown Source)
        at com.borland.sanctuary.lm.mgr.SlipManager.load(Unknown Source)
        at SHOCK.a(SHOCK.java:27)
        at SHOCK.main(SHOCK.java:56)

C:\Borland\JBuilder2005>

All these unxplainable "exceptions" as if shock.jar was corrupt. Confused
I have the latest version of Java Runtime (1.4.2_05) and no problems whatsoever with the language in other apps or browser applets. As you can imagine, I can't pass JBuilder's registration/licensing screen.

Anyone else having problems? What's going on? Can it be fixed?! Sad

OK situational update. Searching for alternative shock.jar files I found this ZIP file (thru ed2k) with a slightly different NFO.
What is going on? Was the release nuked? Shocked

   ║                                                                        ║
   ║  In breaking news, the BSA's new mascot, a ferret/weasel hybrid        ║
║  captured on the Canadian Plains, has switched sides and pledged       ║
║  allegiance to the BSA's sworn enemy - the warez scene.                ║
   ║                                                                        ║
║  Enslaved for months in forced captivity, the little critter           ║
║  toiled under the harsh rule of Business Software Alliance             ║
║  President and CEO Robert Holleyman, and Diane Smiroldo, Vice          ║
║  President of Public Affairs.                                          ║

║  "They forced me to spread disinformation" the furry escapee           ║
║  stated, adding that "worse still, they made me lie to children!"      ║
║  The ferret has now entered a protection program for endangered        ║
║  wildlife, but not before posing for the accompanying photo (see       ║
   ║  file "SHOCK_FERRET.JPG").                                             ║
   ║                                                                        ║
║  The BSA had big plans for its mascot of choice, and at press          ║
║  time it was unclear as to whether those plans would move forward.     ║
║  Talks were underway as to a potential replacement. A horned goat      ║
║  was rejected as "being too reflective upon the true nature of         ║
║  the Business Software Alliance," while Porky Pig reportedly           ║
║  rejected the role, saying he wouldn't be caught "in a blanket,        ║
║  or anywhere else, with THAT crowd of corporate thieves and            ║
   ║  strong-arms."                                                         ║
   ║                                                                        ║
║  In a related story, parents around the world are encouraged to        ║
║  teach their children to think for themselves, rather than have        ║
║  their moral and ethical beliefs forcefully installed by a shady       ║
║  organization with ulterior motives. Elementary school students        ║
║  - who are being force fed a curriculum bought and paid for by         ║
║  the BSA - are urged to learn about the importance of fair use         ║
║  and the perils of copy prevention in regards to software, music,      ║
   ║  games, and movies.                                                    ║
   ║                                                                        ║
║  Recent research underscores the need to continue to educate our       ║
║  young people about the importance of fair use, respect for            ║
║  consumer rights, and the dangers of corporate legislation (and        ║
║  senator) buying consortiums like the BSA.                             ║

One is rip, one is ISO. Obviously it would be the same crack. I didn't get your problem.

I google'd for your error, one possible problem is with your classpath, maybe you need to tweak some settings?

"The CLASSPATH is an environment variable that tells the Java compiler javac.exe where to look for class files to import or java.exe where to find class files to interpret. "

Tweak what? Confused
I haven't changed the default settings while installing Java Runtime, nor I know how to change the position of class files. Thus I can't understand why the shock.jar didn't work...

Anyone else with the same problem? Did it run OK for all the rest of you? Question

I unzipped the .jar file and I found the classpath \com\borland\sanctuary\lm\mgr\Res but not the bold part.
THE BOLD PART IS MISSING! There is no such thing like a Res.class or /Res folder.

How did the rest of you guys run the crack?!? Confused Surprised

Please, anyone speaking Java can help giving me the syntax (if there is a workaround) of the right command to run the crack OR otherwise tell me if/how he was successful?
Cause if not I think we should claim this release as bogus... Embarassed

Here is the error I get again:
Code:

Well all I had to do was run java -jar shock.jar

I'm using the same java version (1.4.2_05). Try reinstalling it or look into the classpath issue, because it seems the error is related to that. You can change classpath from Control Panel/System/Environment (Win2K) or in the Autoexec (older OS). You should include the current working directory in the path in addition to any defaults... you can also try -cp flag.

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/tooldocs/win32/classpath.html#env var

I suggest you try looking into it.

Still the same error. Can anyone tell me the syntax of an alternative (more manual) way to run a command to instruck shock.jar to search for the classes it misses? Please, I can't find them from the online howtos a single functional solution... Sad

OK ^bump^ and this will be the last time I bother you. Sad

Can anyone help with the syntax of the command I have to write?
Will there be an alternative crack or release from another group?

Some of you might think, why don't I just download the free 'Foundation' version from Borland's portal. The thing is, I want to (learn) develop mobile Java applications and this functionality is only available at the paid versions.

Hi guys!
I've also downloaded this release and have a problem (but another one Wink).
I've installed the app and then run the crack. The result was:
Code:

SHOCK presents JBuilder 2005 Enterprise
Enjoy another quality product from SHOCK

It means that the crack had worked successfully, does it not?

But jBuilder is still asking for the reg key or the activation file. I.e. the crack had no effect.

My ideas:
1. I didn't burn the cds. I just extracted the content to a single directory on my hdd and ran install_windows.exe from there. I can't imagine how that could be critical for the crack... but...
2. I used the NFO file from nforce.nl, that is a bit different from the file posted by Prof.Wizard. In fact, there isn't written about the CUSTOM installation, etc. So I ran the FULL installation. With all additional packages. And the installation has passed successfully, without any errors.
To XanderH: how did you run the installation?
3. Maybe there is a definite directory where the crack must be put and then executed? (It would be strabge, however Wink)

Is there a way to make this crack work???

p.s. Sorry for my poor English, I'm from Russia Wink

The file prof wizard posted was the RIP nfo. I haven't tried that. I did a full install also - just of JBuilder, not all the damn addons on the CDs. Installed to the default directory - did you do that? That's one thing I can think of if the crack is looking for a specific file. I was able to run the crack from any old directory (I actually ran it from a diff drive).

I'd try installing it from the CD, to the default dir the installation chooses, and then running the crack again. Or try running the crack in the same dir as JBuilder, who knows, but I didn't have to do that. FYI I'm running Win2K Sp4, though I doubt that matters.

Create a batch file with the following:

Code:

@echo off
set JAVAHOME=C:\Borland\JBuilder2005\jdk1.4
"%JAVAHOME%\bin\java" -jar shock.jar
pause

Edit the "JAVAHOME" to the place where you installed JBuilder 2005 if you haven't used the standard installation directory. Place this file in the same directory as "shock.jar". Double click the batch file and it is done Smile Press a key
to close the window Smile

Code:

SHOCK presents JBuilder 2005 Enterprise
Enjoy another quality product from SHOCK
Druk op een toets om door te gaan. . .
