I've got a question for you gurus out there:
Until yesterday, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and 2 thrones worked fine on my computer. No lagging, no stuttering, etc. Yesterday, I turn off my computer and leave the house. I come back to play some more, and Sands of Time is suddenly stuttering and seems to run at 150% of it's normal speed. Reboot my computer and 80 Windows updates come out of nowhere, figure that's the issue, go to bed. Come back this morning, PoP is still stuttering. I've tried re-installing it, messing with the game settings, and changing my screen's refresh rate.
The kicker: EVERY other game on my system runs FINE, and besides those Win updates, nothing was changed on the system. Google had nothing on this issue, and I'm pretty surprised myself. Any advice?

150% faster than it's normal speed? or slower? if running faster and your on a dual core try setting the affinity to 1. If slower check your task manager to see if anything else is eating your CPU time while the game is running. I know kaspersky likes to be a bitch and scan my game while it's running sometimes (forget which game) so I got that sorted and the game ran smooth again. Also try tinkering with the priority on the game
And dunno if this would help at all but you got your drive(s) defragged?

Something weird happened when I set the affinity to 1: it worked, the stuttering is gone and the game isn't too fast, but now it's running at ~50-75% of normal speed, also making it unplayable; Setting priorities seems to do nothing to fix this. Another interesting thing I forgot to mention the first time around: The Two Thrones launches into a zoomed-in version of the intro that doesn't respond to any commands, and Warrior Within seems to run in slow-mo and is jerky... Both SoT and 2 Thrones ran fine before last night >.<

It worked fine on my PC as well until yesterday night... That's the point, it stopped working under some very mysterious circumstances.
