Hey guys
I had Halo 2 working fine on my machine (XP SP2) but suddenly it's started throwing out the error message:
Loader.exe "H:\halo2.exe"
ERROR: Failed to load the executable: H ["]
The exe does load up in the background and sits there, however the game doesn't actually start.
I'm not yet up to the bit where it goes fubar in XP and haven't seen this one in the posts I've read so was foxxed and hoping someone may be able to give me a clue.

Try doing a batch file with these lines:
@echo
CLS
loader.exe halo2.exe
Just copy and paste to a new notepad text file and then rename it to a Halo 2.bat
Place the file to your Halo 2 folder (where your halo2.exe and loader.exe files are) and make a shortcut to that file if you like. Execute and post results here.

Same error:
ERROR: Failed to load the executable: h ["]
Not far of the bat I was using already:
@ECHO OFF
Loader.exe halo2.exe >> HaloBatError.txt
Bladdy weird, was working fine for a couple of days :/

Have you tried running startup.exe instead of halo2.exe?

You do realize halo 2 is vista right? or have I missed the halo 2 on xp crack.

Yeah, doesn't do anything at all.
Blah was just starting to get into the game. It's actually not bad, not spectacular but good fun.
