Hour of Victory allows you to play a key role in the pivotal and cinematic battles from the European and North African theaters of World War II, using the skills and gameplay style you choose. Sneak into enemy territory as a covert operative, storm the gates as a British Commando, or snipe from afar as an Army Ranger – each character’s unique attributes will be needed for the fulfillment of the overall objective. Only with all these skills working closely together will you be able to say that you helped define the Hour of Victory.
Features:
Quote:
» Players can pick from a Covert Operative, specializing in stealth and sabotage; a British Commando specializing in the guns-blazing frontal assault; or an Army Ranger who specializes in sniping and demolitions.
» Major Ambrose Taggert, American OSS Operative - Specialty: Infiltration Taggert specializes in silent kills, as he surprises his enemies with a cold blade before they even hear him. » Lieutenant William Ross, British SAS Commando - Specialty: Assault Ross is a strong and dedicated soldier who wastes no time in engaging and destroying the enemy head on. Skillfull in frontal assault, the lieutenant will move objects out of his way if he has to, all the while with guns blazing.
»Sergeant Calvin Blackbull, US Army Ranger - Specialty: Sniper Sergeant Blackbull, also known as "Bull," is calm under pressure, able to hold his breath and take out his target from long range with deadly accuracy. Bull is nimble, able to jump long distances and climb obstacles that might slow other soldiers down.

They're 'fucking everywhere' on the PC too, whats your point?
Shooter games will always be popular, they sell well so developers make them.

My point was, yes you're correct they are fucking everywhere on the Pc, I bought my X-box to play games, original games .... not PC ports, not games I can play on my PC .... I see Microsoft are even trying to force C&C on the 360....

I know that, but there are a far more diverse range of games on the PC. Im not saying thats weird, ofcourse its more diverse. Just that right now, in my opinion, theres an overflow of shooter-games on the Xbox. I like many of them, just that im bummed that theres yet another one coming

As promised Midway has released a single-player teaser demo (940mb) allowing you to try out the rugged North African level as one of 3 characters.
" ***UPDATE #1***
It appears there is an issue with the download of this Hour of Victory demo via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Many users, including us, have made multiple attempts to download the demo only to get stuck at 99%. We have tried turning off the console and resuming the download as well as deleting the partial file and restarting the download. Neither method seems to have any affect on the process as each time we keep getting stuck at 99%. No word on the cause or a possible solution at this time. I guess we'll just have to keep waiting...again...
***UPDATE #2***
Now it looks like the demo has been removed from the Marketplace. Perhaps they are in the process of replacing the incomplete file with the complete file so we can actually play! Keep your fingers crossed! "
Midway released an Xbox 360 demo of their upcoming WWII shooter Hour of Victory on Wednesday but the demo was pulled for some unknown reason. The Major Nelson web site states in its comments that the demo should be back online sometime on Friday.
No, they took it down cause people are tearing it a new ass in the xbox forums.. this demo is not gonna sell the full game lol
Haha, yeah probably.
It was almost painfull to play thru the demo. I had to crank up the sensitivity way up, but yet it feels really slow in beginning of movement, before it kind of takes off!?
I´m going to give it another go, later when I get home. I can´t believe it´s this bad.
tried demo it's just doesn't feel right, ai stupid and movement somehow a bit fucked, no immersion whatsoever like in cod or moh, altho gfx does look nice this game is gonna suck big time
Ah well, at least thats another game that I don't have to buy. There are too many good games coming out in June, if it wasn't for the band I'd be tempted to hack my 360!
