I want to change my video card cause too many games now ask for Pixel Shader 3 and mine is 2. So i found a guy who got a video card for sale but it says "Built for Microsoft Windows Vista"

Will the card work on XP?

http://ca.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=6&l3=515&l4=0&model=1644&modelmenu=1

Right now i have a Asus X800 XL 256mb. Is the 8500GT better or worse?

Kommando, if you can, wait a bit more, save more money and get the 8600GT. It's really better and is more future proof.

It was either that one or the 8500 but the 8600 doesnt have 512mb and since i got fucked by AMD when they released their god damn AM2 right after i bought a brand new socket 939 CPU, i cant affort to upgrade that right now so i need a VC with more memory to put weight in the balance. Cant even have descent performance in STALKER, cant play R6: Vegas amonst other games where i either have poor performance or the game just wont work

If you want a good card to play the latest games and at high resolutions buy the 8800GS 640Mb or the new ATI HD2900XT..they're both cards with excelent performance..
ATI HD2900XT (around 350€) 8800GTS 640MB (around 400€).
They're not cheap..but i guarantee that they have the performance you need for today and future games Very Happy
But if you want a more affordable choice go for the 8800GS 320MB or the ATI X1950PRO..they have decent performance as well..

It sucked if the card was expensive..but for those who are looking for an afordable graphic card and they don't want to play at resolutions higher than 1280x1024 with no AA and HDR enabled so i guess this is a very decent product.

Of course if i had the money, i would go buy a 8800 but i just want a "good" card (better than mine) with Pixel Shader 3 but to be honest, im getting tired to put 500$+ a year/year and a half on my computer. I've been in jail for about a year and when i come out, everyting is changed and totally lost track of everyting.

I was going to buy myself a nice AMD X2 cpu (939) then realise AMD dont do those anymore and switch to that AM2 crap....anyway, i just want to enjoy games without worry to be broke for the next 2 months and sleep on the couch cause my wife is pissed at me to spend that much money on hardware
