Ok. i got an xbox 360 controller with the cable that recharges said controller when its hooked to it via USB port.

Works fine on the XBox. Thought i would give it a go on the PC tonight for monster madness.

Anyway, plugged it in to USB and nothing. OS Doesnt see it.

From what i gathered, it should just recognise it but it doesn't. Am I missing something here like a driver or something?

Ya you need the drivers for it. For some reason if you try to find them outside Microsoft's website it's literally a pain in the ass so I uploaded em for ya. You can check out my sig for games you can play the gamepad with too Smile

http://rapidshare.com/files/34172024/XBOX360Eng.exe.html

also if you want you can get a headset for the bottom of your gamepad (any 2.5mm will work) and windows will also recognize that as a USB Headset. I personally use this one when I play games on the net with friends. Works wonders with skype. Games sounds come out of teh speakers, their voices come out of the earpiece.

If you are trying to use the Wireless 360 controller with the Plug and Play USB kit, it wll not work. That USB cable is only a battery charger, it does not interface with the controller directly other than charging the battery. You need to buy the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Reciever for Windows.

Yeah. I finally realised what was going on. I thought the cable actually interfaced with the usb and controller. Didn't relaise it was just a recharger.
Ah well.

The original poster already has the wireless 360 controller, for $20 he can get the wireless adapter rather than spend $40 for a wired 360 controller. Just curious what issues the wireless 360 controller has? I have it and have not really come across any so far for the PC games I have tried on it.

Im looking for a wheel and would rather just have 1 for both the 360 and PC than having to get 2

All of the 360 wireless controllers and accessories are supposed to work with the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Reciever for Windows.
