5/10 ... panting heavily during the first half of the movie is not good acting. As for the story, it was too simple and too predictible for my taste.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Yup. Next stop in this genre - The Bourne Ultimatum.

crapy movie , loots of holes and continuality errors , shots are beautiful but the director is a ass - he edited nicely the house scene but the car chasing was awfully made
3/10

one of the most hilarious attempts at describing real sniping.
the guy snipes at irrealistic distance with even more irrealistic lead and even shoot downs a chopper with his anti-vehicle sniper rifle.
I dunno but all the movie reminded me of a play session of BF2 in some public pub filled with sniper noobs.
it's well know in BF2 that most sniper noobs snipe from the edge of mountain making them so easy targets. Yet it was hilarious to see the same at the end of movie, when the hero snipes all other snipers at the mountain.
what i would have like is to see real snipering depicted , rather than to see a port of BF2 session game on movie.
for me, enemy at the gates its still the best depiction of sniper tactics.

Seen it yesterday, it was quite entertaining but bourne movies have a lot more action and thrill, I'd give this one 6.5 or 7/10.

guess u never heard of anti-material rifles then
Quote: | The L82A1 Barrett is a semi-automatic anti-material rifle in service with the Royal Marines. The US-made Barrett is chambered in .5 inch (12.7x99mm). The Barrett has an effective range of 2000 meters. The gun is fed from large magazines with a capacity of 10 rounds. Most Barretts are fitted with Leupold M series 10X telescope scopes.
In skilled hands, the Barrett can disable/destroy vehicles, light armour, parked aircraft and fixed installations such as radar dishes. It is also a highly effective anti-sniper weapon as its rounds can penetrate a sniper's cover such as walls |
im sure one of them could shoot straight into a helicopters engine or whatever , if one is fired into a cars engine block the engine dies straight away
as for unrealistic distance the world record for a sniping kill is 1.50993miles or 2430 meters (not seen the film though so i dont know how far away he snipes people.
Quote: | The current world record for the longest range sniper kill is 2,430 meters (7,972 feet), accomplished by a Canadian sniper, Corporal Rob Furlong, of the third battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (3 PPCLI), during the invasion of Afghanistan, using a .50 BMG (12.7mm) McMillan TAC-50 bolt-action rifle.. |
