Ok I dunno if it's just my monitor or wtf but I got a 19" syncmaster 931BW WS with a native rez of 1440x900. I've seen plenty of games with widescreen support namely jade empire and monster madness but they don't support the 1440x900 rez. They got the other WS rez's but not this one. Is it just like a 19" rez or wtf. If I knew 1440 was supported like president bush I wouldn't have gotten it and just got a bigger one.

I believe that in most games you can edit the .ini file to change the resolutions.

ya I know all about that trick as well as widescreengamingforums but I'm curious why the hell this particular native rez has shit for support

Maybe because 16:10 resolutions aren't that common for a 19'' screen? Dunno. I have a 22'' (16:10, 1680x1050 native) and there also some games won't let you choose this native resolution, being usually limited to a stupid hardcoded choice of either 4:3 or 16:9 res.

It's all about the games I think. Well made games usually offer some default resolution choices + one choice taken from your desktop resolution. I can get most of the games to work on same res as $en$i natively, although, some older games, and especially console ports need modifying.
So, I think you've just been unlucky and stumbled upon a few games that have crappy res support (they probably don't support 1680x1050 either).
Although...I am just guessing here

Bah i saw you whine in game threads. Loose this panel and get Samsung 226bw. Its super cheap. All games you said dont support youre resolution did support myne which is 1650 x 1080.

Yeah, god damn annoying with those who dont have the HD res. Most new games have that tho.
