What do I need to setup a standalone Voip phone without connecting it to my PC? Do I need a router or can I buy something that will do the job without a router?
After looking at some websites that sell the hardware, Seems like its going to be a little expensive to setup so it looks like I'll be sticking to the landline.
It really isn't that expensive. There are several brands of ADSL routers that also are SIP compatible and have one or two phone jacks. So just get one of those and an account at say voipbuster and you can connect your normal phones, and call and be called on your voipbuster account.
