a little overboard with the layout, you think? And I heard that this release was just the PAL release altered to be NTSC...not actually NTSC?

I am a bit concerned about this also.
The title screen says Mario Strikers Charged FOOTBALL (It's a soccer game) so its obviously PAL.
The part that concerns me is that the console requested a system update before I could play it. I accepted the update, and I tried this game and others since the update. I dont think anything is bricked.
Still.... kinda shady for Vortex to do this. Release Groups - PLEASE label your releases as what they really are! (in this case - PAL patched to NTSC)

Your concerns have been duly noted and forwarded to the respective people.

as long as you have the most recent US update...which is 2.2U...it should be fine...just let it update and nothing changes...I did, and have Wiikey...just so you know

I forgot to mention in my original post that I have a Wiikey in an NTSC Wii. Still no issues on my Wii as a result of taking this upgrade.
I'm just glad this wasn't another Super Paper Mario type situation, that would have been aweful, and avoidable through proper nfo labeling.
"Buyer" Beware I guess....
