Absolutely not, it's not wrong to pay for a service. You could go to the root of the problem and just say "it's wrong to pirate software". Of course this is the wrong forum to put forth such claims

in my opinion it is only wrong to pirate software, if you earn money with it and if you could afford to pay the price. If you havent got the money and dont earn anything with it, nobody gets ripped off. If you on the other hand pay for a service to get warez, that money isnt going to the people who deserve it, e.g. the developers / producers of the software.

Again, you're paying for a service, not necessarily warez. I don't see any difference between using usenet or p2p in that regard. If you pirate software by using usenet or not, there is still no money going to the publishers (most devs have already been paid for their work anyway - very few receive royalties for sales), so I don't see any difference for that arguement.
You don't wanna pay for that service or can't afford it, that is your choice of course.
I believe there is at least one topic discussing this already by the way.

what i mean is, that if you can afford to spend money on a fast dsl-connection and a monthly usenet-subscription, you could as well throw that money in the direction of the developers...
It just feels wrong and cheap... ...especially if people use newsgroups to be cheap fucks and save bucks, so they can have a longer holiday, a bigger car, etc....

Read my comment about this again.

And why does that feel cheap? P2P feels cheap to me, where you don't have to spend a dime on anything (of course, there are pros and cons to everything, but most of the people who have used usenet knows what those are). Longer holidays, bigger cars and whatnot has jack shit to do with if you are a usenet subscriber or not. That depends entirely on what kind of job you have.

So it's ok to have an uber PC or a 360 and pirate games, but if you spend money to get access to those games it's wrong and cheap?
If you've got the hardware to play the latest games then you can afford to buy them too.

Somewhere someone ends up paying for your warez. Why not you?

This isn't true. For example me, I've purchased a HD Projector, with the screen it came up to £1400ish. I can barely afford this. No way could I afford to buy a blu-ray player and blu-ray titles. So I download. I can afford hardware, but no way the software.
Also giganews has accepted my UK debit card years ago. But it's visa.

Curious what any of this arguing has to do with debit cards in the UK lol, if you all want to argue about paying for use net I'll save you all the trouble and post the 613 threads already made arguing over it.
on topic...
I thought UK already had the ability to use their cards? Or is that just UK and not the rest of the Euro area?
