maybe itll actually stick to the comics this time.
the first was incredibly lame.
they gave a shot of the Predalien in the last frame, thats about the only nod to the comics in the whole film.

First was was good if you took it as a totally separate entity to the alien or predator films. But as an alien or predator film at 87 minutes it was too short and left a lot to be desired! 2nd one hopefully will be better but im gonna view with low expectations i think

Aliens has fuck all to do with being hardcore. Predator likewise (though I only watched the original Predator and I'm not it's biggest fan).

so yes AvP can be extremely hardcore, read the comics. |

The reason it got green lighted was because it was based on two hugely popular franchises and they wanted to make a quick buck off the back of it. Got nothing to do with the comic fan-base.
And no, none of the Alien movies are 'hardcore'. Obviously you misunderstand the meaning of this word in the context of (relatively) low-budget films. 'Hardcore' in this sense means; lame & sloppy, an attempt to compensate for the lack of suspense, character and so forth with blood, mindless action and a crass plot.
The Aliens film was not good because it was 'hardcore' and had more aliens. It was good for a whole variety of other reasons. The Alien film was not good because it was 'hardcore' it was good for a variety of other reasons (not least of which the suspense and thrilling horror). |

'Alien' and 'Aliens' are two different movies. The first was a taught thriller with just one xenomorph (to avoid using the term alien and confusing you ) the second was full of the bastards in a Vietnam type scenario. Both were different in their approaches but neither was HARDCORE. Which is a lame expression that puts to bed any chance of the film being GOOD. |

Third one followed in the roots of the first.
Fourth one followed in the steps of the second.

Lets make things clear Alien was a master piece, it scared the shit out of me when I watched it for the first, all the other Alien movies were okish but nowhere near the original, Alien was not hardcore at all, if you saw it you know that you barely see the Alien during the film, it was based on suspense and this is mainly why it was so good. I'm not comic fan so I don't know anything about AvP as far as comic is concerned, all I know is that the movie was a disgrace to the Alien and Predator franchise, some summer horror movie for bored and brainless American teens and now you are telling me they are doing a sequel to this, please go in hell!
Next summer the will do Alien&Predator vs Freddy&Jason its going to be awesome, I heard it will be really hardcore and rated R.
Hollywood makes me sad!
