I used a scissor to stop the chipset fan to spin Smile

Now I can sleep at night...

Good for the PC?

Blah that's nothing, I keep my case open at all times so the amount of dust and hair and crap there is , is pretty amazing. You can literaly pick up one side of it and just remove the thing as a whole. Temp drops about 20° after I clean... (And I don't clean often)

seeing as summer finally seems to be hitting britain and the weather is starting to get quite warm i decided i should do my yearly pc cleaning.

tons of fucking dust everywhere! everything inside was coated in dust but i guess thats what i get for having 4 x80mm case fans Laughing

the results are.
GPU CORE down to 61 at full load from 71
GPU TEMP Monitoring chip down to 36 from 56 Shocked

SYS temp down to 28 from 36
CPU temp down from 58 to 51

always clean my comp without an anti-static wristband using cotton buds to clean the fan blades and carefuly using a hover to suck most of the dust off everything else lol, its pretty wreckless but so far i havent had a problem , wouldnt advise it though Laughing

btw not really a good idea to stop your chipset fan (guess you mean on the northbrige) you could really fuck up your motherboard if that chip overheats.

i always try to get a motherboard with just a heatsink on the northbridge as the fans the manufactures use are rubbish and generally dont last very long before they start to die

Yeah i use my trusty Dyson to clean my heatsink - after removing the fan of course. Why dont hoovers blow anymore? they only suck nowadays.. when i was a kid our hoover could blow aswell as suck to get rid of all the plastic soldiers stuck up the hose Very Happy

oh and no predictable jokes to the above plz Smile
