|
 |
Hi all,
I've been backing up DVD movies now for a while now and have been using a combination of IFOEdit, DVDShrink, DVD2One, DVDFab and good ol' DVD Decrypter.
What I want to know, is does anyone know what method the DVD release scene uses to do their encodes of blockbuster films?
I've read a lot of NFO's from the likes of Replica, Boozers, ANBC, etc that all use CCE, however im not sure what suite of tools they use to create the final product.
Everything I read is pointing towards all sorts of tools and a lot of screwing around + upwards of 8 hours for the final encoding.
I've visited doom9, afterdawn. dvd.box.sk and a few other random sites, however a lot of their guides either have poor english, don't go into enough detail, or just use way too many different apps.
Ive done some basic stuff in CCE, however thought the scene might use some wonderful app(s) that do it all really easily.
Surely for the new blockbusters, these groups cant afford to wait 8 hours while their movie encodes before releasing it to the public, yet the quality is usually indistinguishable to the original.
Any help you guys can give would be most appreciated
Regards,
fLAiL

There's a freeware app called dvdrebuilder that will allow you to make a complete backup of a dvd using cce to reencode the movie files.
The speed that cce works at is dependant mainly on your processor speed but also available memory and memory speed, so if you only have a slowish cpu you will get 8 hour encode times whatever apps you are using.
Another good app that uses cce is dvd2svcd, this will allow you to make a movie only reencode to dvd or svcd of dvd's and avi's
