Yeah,I did...but can't really say much about the game since I don't speak german.

But from what little I have played,it seems ok. GFX are decent and the premise seems fun(playing as an half-orc).

I did notice that the game is actually also in english...in a way.
There is this text file(file format vcd wrapper) that's over 3 Mb.
It contains a lot of dialogue, both german AND english, plus other languages if i'm not mistaken(one seems to be hungarian).
I just haven't found a way to trigger the english text IF that is even possible.

I was looking through that too, and it's either incomplete or organized in a way that I haven't been able to figure out. I understand enough German that I should be able to pick a particular dialog out and find its English equivalent in that file, but I tried that with the woman who lost her cat and it seems like only bits and piece of it are there in English.

They didn't leave the game with an easy localization from what I can tell either. The dlg files are hard-coded to point to text.dat entries that are in German and there seems to be no simple way to change the language. I assume they have a tool to do it, but doing it by hand would suck since you'd basically have to rebuild all the dlg files line by line.

The game itself seems interesting, but I can't believe anyone thought the camera controls in it were acceptable. You basically have a choice between an overhead view which doesn't go high enough to really see where you're going or a 3rd person view with the camera so low that your own back takes up a large chunk of the screen.

Yeah,I noticed that too,so I stopped trying. Guess we'll just have to wait until june for an english release(according to play.com).

The camera angle is annoying,I admit that. In order to see where I'm going,I had to lower until it was behind the main guy...but then playing it felt clunky.
Hope they fix the camera for the english release(yeah right).Smile

There's a German patch coming in ~2 weeks according to the company guy (who gets all bent out of shape and defensive about any criticism of the game) on their forums. A couple people who bought the game also complained about the camera being awful, and his response was that some testers also hated it at first but then got used to it and that's what people should do now too. Hopefully when the game is slagged for that "feature" in reviews they will rethink their position on not fixing it before the English release.

There are some pretty amusing bugs in the game too... like when you've got a couple daggers and the one you equip takes damage in combat, they all take damage. But if you find a new one in a box, all of them go back to being undamaged. There are apparently some pathing issues in the combat grids too.

I really want this game to turn out well, it's not like anyone else is even trying to make a turn-based RPG like this at all anymore. Sad
