I started training again 2 days ago and the day after I could not even open my arms anymore:LOL: The most I can open them is like 100° and thats as far as they go:( Anyone here who sometimes works out, plz tell me how long this shit's gonna last cuz I can't even assume my normal resting positions while I am bed. I know its good that your muscles tear a bit so these tears can be filled with new carbohydrates and stuff so they can grow faster so I'm hoping the more I do it the less problems I have the day after:LOL: I only took like 6kg's maximum, so I started with 3kg's and slowly went up to 6kg in increments of 1kg, it sure did not feel heavy when i did it:(

Training will fuck you up. My neighbour died at young age because of extreme training.

Well for me its not extreme training, I don't do anobolics or shit like that, I just primarily work my back, arms and chest, if your neighbour died then he's probably one in a gazillion who dies from training:LOL: And normally when I am training for a month or so I can torture my muscles so hard and lift whatever I want(in terms of sets I mean)and the next day I won't even feel a single twitch. So in my case its clear I just started too heavy after a year of sitting idle. My question is just how long will these fucked up arms be like this, I have no anatomy knowledge so don't know these things. Just wanna get training again as soon as possible.

You should always start very slowly with low weights the first weeks and work your way up or you will bust your muscles.

Probably less than a week, between 2 and 5 days I think. I once had the same thing for a full week tho.

aaah 4-5 days I can live with that, and yeah I learned my lesson, will start slow and work my way up now till I can lift as many sets as I can without hurting the next day. And backpains I rarely have, just sit up or stand up straight and you won't ever have to deal with that cuz your back is your temple.

LOL I remember doing the chest press for the first time...... couldn't put my shirt on the next day, hurt so much felt like all my muscles exploded inside. My chest was sore for about 7 days.
As for legs..... just after the summer in 2006 I started lifting weights again after doing nothing for 2 months coz my hand was broken. I didn't do squats but I did the leg press, my legs were so sore I could barely walk and when I did I was in serious pain. That same night we had a concert,.... and I don't usually do any drugs but I must have smoked a ton of weed so my legs wouldn't hurt anymore Numbing them up real nice, took about 8 days before they restored It was sick.

Is that true? Do the tears fill up with carbohydrates? (which basically turns to different forms of sugars) I thought the tears were filled in with new muscle fibers or something like that.
But I know crap.

had the same thing with the first chest press, couldnt move my arms anymore and stinging like hell. and the very first time i went training i did that excercise where you lift weight on your shoulder while standing on the tip of your toes and going up and down and couldnt walk for a week.
now i train 4 days, then 3 days rest. and the good about that is, even if im stiff, i can still train cause when i start training the stiffness goes away.
after those 4 days all my muscles are very weak and at the start of a new 4 day schedule im stronger then ever

Just stretch your muscles after you've finished training, you won't get stiff that way.

you will ALWAYS (or 99 percent of the time) get stiff if you haven't worked out for a while and then you do a heavy set without warmup... happens all the time... if you stick to regular training, you won't exprience it much anymore...
i remember few years ago when i actually started doing weights, the first day of HEAVY legs with my trainer, i fell 3 times on the way back to his office.. and then outside i fell into mod cause my knees kept giving out...
anyway 2-4 days sounds right... rest, take your glutamine and you'll be ok rocky

You over-worked your biceps I'm guessing. Only train each muscle twice a week. Overtraining is baaaaad

with carbohydrates I actually meant new muscle fibers, carbohydrates and other nutrition makes this so its good if you have a few tears here and there, just now what I have now, they still hurt like shit:(

So is stretching out your muscles afterwards, or they're gonna hurt like hell the next day.

Why do you say keep it empty 2hrs before, that makes no sense to me. About 4 years ago I was heavily into weightlifting, I ate on average 6-7 meals a day with proteine shake and creatine and I trained 5 out of 7 days. After about 3 months I had gained 10kg's of which I am sure 2-4kg were pure muscle. People at work knew me to be just a average skinny guy, but they started seeing changes in me and looked to me as in saying, that can't be from normal training. Its since then that I know and realized that weightlifting is 70% food and 30% training. And when you look at me I have like 8% bodyfat which is extremely extremely low, so every muscle I pack on shows.
A mate of mine is also allways going on about training but he's like beerbelly, and 15kg's heavier than me, any and all muscle he packs on just won't show, I already told him to do lots of cardio, biking, running etc to clear his ugly beerbelly but he just won't listen, so what good is it for him:LOL: Now I just want to get back in shape for summer and pack on 5kg's or so, even if its 1kg muscle than I am happy cuz thats allready alot, I know I probably won't be able to accomplish what I did 4 years ago, eating on these set intervals is hard to stick by. But the advantage of working weights in a clean fashion is that you will loose the mass after you stop training for a while but you won't loose an inch of defenition, so the whole years through I kept my defenition while other people just grow fat when they don't do anything(maybe its my metabolism helping me out as well, allways been from a family of naturally slender people, able to eat whatever they want without packing on fat).
So Godlikez, your theory might hold truth for many but it doesn't for me.
