i've been playing MP FPS games forever it seems like, spent tons of time on them to. for istance played UT99 for 2 years, played quake before that. and counterstrike source. also played Ravenshield for over 1 year, et and so on to, but these are old games.

now days i cant find anything good to play online,evrything got big tanks and airstrikes etc in them, and there is almost no 1on1, have developers exchanged happy fragging with state of the art graphic instead?

tried playing graw 2 online, i couldnt. the gameplay was so... eeek the feeling from old ghost recon games wasnt there simply.

tried QW:ET witch in my opinion sucked big times. im a huge fan of RTCW:ET, but QW:ET didnt have any feeling what so ever.

im starting to think that we lost or self in high tech state of the art graphic, and evry game needs a new feature, and evryone goes WOW when they see it the first 10 times, then its MEH, instead of developing games that are actully fun over time, witch you can lose yourself in for several hours at the time.

well maybe its just me. anyways if you got any FPS MP to suggest please post it. and i would love to try it out, even better if there is an beta or an MP demo of it.

hehe just edited my last post and said "evrything got big tanks and airstrikes in them"

so i dont really count those. sure BF2142 is playble when you go on infantry servers only. but unfortuanly there are few of those =(

Bit too much tacitcal shooter. Hope they make an "arcade" mode that plays more like CS.
Genre really needs some refreshment, imo atleast. I know that the BF series has a huge fanbase, but like the op i prefer smaller 5v5 where focus is more on teamplay and aim.

u don't need to buy or install HL2, u just need a Steam Account with at least one Source Game (CS:S, DOD:S or HL2:DM), then u can play all HL2 Mod's with Source SDK Base Wink

Open Steam, go to the Tools Tab and install Source SDK & Source SDK Base.

Now create a new shortcut on your desktop and add this

Code:
X:\yourpath-to-the-steam-folder\steam.exe -applaunch 215 -game "X:\yourpath-to-the-steam-folder\SteamApps\SourceMods\the name of the Mod folder" -console


My shortcut looks like this

Code:
F:\Programme\Steam-Down\steam.exe -applaunch 215 -game "f:\programme\steam-down\SteamApps\SourceMods\Insurgency" -console


Done! Just double-click the shortcut and Steam will start the Mod Smile

SWAT 4 is a "relatively" new game, and a very good one. The focus is mostly on teamplay and tactics, it's not another brainless frag fest.

hahaha this game was really fun, based on Q3 engine.
game was fast, loads of 1 on 1 situations.only played vs bots tho, cus apparently i cant find any servers =(

There are more Multiplayer FPS on the PC than there are Stetson wearing, obese ,stupid,ugly cowboy wannabess in Texas.... You should be asking where are the good RPG's or Adventures.. We have FPS coming out of our collective ears Smile

I tried Dark messiah and might and magic MP mode, and it was very simplistic.
But I still play it for a simple reason: the electric orb weapon is somewhat "fascinating" to me Very Happy(amateurs will understand)

I know CSS is old but I still play it from time to time. And those little mods some server use are quite fun actually. especially the one where u start with a pistol and then advance Smile

i dont think there is even a handful that is worth playing, most of them that are worth playing are old and only got a few bunch of players. MMORPG's are swallowing all the gamers! =)

the new games are just tech demos. nothing else. no feeling in the games no nothing. just pure state of the art graphic.

I'm still playing FEAR MP and loving it. Same as you Aephir, haven't played any recent FPS that has got me hooked. Waiting for crysis (though I havent got high hopes for the MP in the game) and UT4, QWET, even Hellgate London (could be interesting, if not for the monthly fee).
